• DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE is currently filming in Vilnius, Lithuania.  The cast list is posted.  We have also discovered an older project we didn't know about: CAMOUFLAGE.
• I'm traveling to Chile for three weeks, so there won't be any updates in the meantime... but hopefully there will be some John Hannah news to report when I get back!

• US/Canada:  WNED, the PBS station in Buffalo, NY, is showing the first series of "MCCALLUM" Friday nights at 9pm.
• Germany:  "MCCALLUM" is showing on Premiere Krimi and CIRCUS is showing on Premiere 3 & 5.
• US:  John's "ALIAS" episode, "Color-Blind" is going to be rerunning on Sunday, June 9 on ABC.
• Canada:  CIRCUS is showing on The Movie Network on June 6, 18 and 24.
• UK:  BEFORE YOU GO will be released in theatres on June 21.

• UK:  THE HURRICANE will be on Sky Premier 4 at 8pm tonight.

• John Hannah's US television pilot, "THE OATH", has been picked up by ABC.  The name of the series has been changed to "MEDS" and the name of John's character (previously Dr Hugo Del Toro) has been changed to the more Scottish-sounding Dr Dalgety.  The show will appear in ABC's fall lineup, Wednesdays at 10pm/9c.
• US:  THE HURRICANE is showing on Encore and THE MUMMY RETURNS is running on Starz!.

• US:  "ALIAS" will be rerunning on the ABC Family network beginning tonight.

• John Hannah's BROND costar, Stratford Johns, passed away this week.
• US:  THE HURRICANE is on the Starz! channel this weekend.
• Canada:  The last two REBUS films, DEAD SOULS and MORTAL CAUSES, will be showing in two parts each on TV Ontario Wednesdays at 9 in February.  DEAD SOULS begins 13 February and MORTAL CAUSES 27 February.
• Although we have no information on funding or when filming will begin, the Clerkenwell Films project SOHO seems to be taking off under a new title, TAKING PICTURES.  Elizabeth Perkins is to co-star with John in the story of an art gallery owner who falls in love with a con artist.

• Canada:  TV Ontario is airing "MCCALLUM" nightly at 12:30 am.
• US:  THE MUMMY is showing on TNT and CIRCUS is on HBO.

• Australia:  "ALIAS" will be showing on Channel 7 starting in February.

• UK:  John Hannah's narration continues in the genetics documentary "BITTER INHERITANCE" Thursdays at 9:50pm on BBC2.  More episodes will be shown 24 and 31 January and 7 February.

• UK:  John Hannah narrates "BITTER INHERITANCE" on BBC2 on Thursday 10 January at 9:50pm.  It is a documentary about a genetic disorder and the hunt to alert and treat members of a family who might be affected.  "ALIAS" starts on Sky One on 23 January.  John's performance in his two episodes is excellent - so try to catch it if you have the opportunity!  John's wife, Joanna Roth, can be seen in "IN DEEP" on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 January at 9:00pm on BBC1.
• THE MEMORY OF WATER seems to have had a title change to BEFORE YOU GO.  I'll try to get that changed on the site when I get back to school (in about a week).

• US/Canada:  What a disappointment!  With no previous warning, ABC replaced this weeks' episode of "ALIAS" with "THE PRACTICE".  It has been postponed until the 18th, meaning that JH's two episodes will be shown back-to-back on the 18th and 25th of November.  This way it won''t compete with UPRISING or the Emmys, but it would have been nice to know before!  Hope this didn't mess up anyone's plans too much...

• US (and Canada?):  Don't forget the first of JH's "ALIAS" episodes, "Reckoning" will be on tomorrow night at 9/8c on ABC!  The second will follow in two weeks.

• Real news is always nice! While projects like THE SIN GARDEN are a while off from actual production and some, like MR BENN, steadily bubble away in Funding Hell, Variety has information about John Hannah's next movie: I'M WITH LUCY. Production begins on April 16 in the United States on the romantic comedy which stars Monica Potter, Henry Thomas, and Anthony LaPaglia as well as JH. According to Variety, the story is about "the life of a late-twentysomething gal recently dumped by a man she had believed was her perfect mate. She then hurls herself into a disastrous series of blind dates only to learn that Mr. Perfect is not always right and Mr. Right is not always perfect." So is JH Mr Right or Mr Perfect? We shall see - I'll keep you posted!
• UK: The release date of PANDAEMONIUM has been delayed until September, to avoid competition with other, bigger films.

• Canada: In addition to the second half of REBUS: THE HANGING GARDEN on the 28th, Canadians get THE LOVE BUG 25 March at 9pm on the Family Channel and "MCCALLUM" on WTN on Sundays.

• Australia: Australia has John Hannah fever! The second series of "MCCALLUM" is going to be reshown on ABC, starting September 8th. After "MCCALLUM", keep your eyes open for REBUS.
• US: I've received an email saying that CIRCUS will be released in the US on September 15. I haven't been able to confirm this yet or find out where it's being released. Keep an eye out in your local art-house theatres, as that's the most likely place for a small British film like this.

• Australia: THE HURRICANE will be released on video soon and REBUS will be shown in the fall on ABC.

• Filming of THE MUMMY RETURNS still seems to be going on at Pinewood Studios so any reports I gave of UK filming being finished are, I suppose, untrue. It's hard to keep up with these large movie crews!

• PANDAEMONIUM will be one of the Gala Screenings at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday 15 September at 9:30pm. As far as we can tell, this will be the world premiere of the film. (The film will be shown in November at the 44th London Film Festival. No word yet on theatrical release.)
• Filming of THE MUMMY RETURNS has wrapped up in London, but there may be more filming to do in Petra, Jordan. I'm not sure if this would involve John Hannah.

• In about three weeks, I'll be leaving the country on a study-abroad program. Though updates are usually pretty frequent during my school year, it's not likely that I'll have the time and Internet access to do as much with the site this year. I hope to continue to keep you up on the latest John Hannah news, but I'd like to invite you to check out my sister-site, the John Hannah Appreciation Club (JHAC) too, since they will have information more quickly than this site will.

• UK: THE HURRICANE is released on video 11 September.

• UK: THE FINAL CUT shows on Channel 5 Wednesday 16 August at 9:00pm. JH is only in the first few minutes of the film.
• UK: On Saturday, 19 August, ITV2 will have a "Behind the Scenes" evening from 8pm to midnight. One of the dramas included is REBUS. This may be a rerun of the "MAKING OF REBUS" special that was on the same night that REBUS: BLACK AND BLUE aired a few months ago.
• If anyone wanted to know the results of the CIRCLES OF DECEIT mystery - it was shown in the Windsor, Ontario area, but not across Canada. It wasn't CIRCLES OF DECEIT: KALON, but another episode.

• I've found another TV listing where CIRCLES OF DECEIT: KALON is listed for tonight at 10:30 pm. Now I'm wondering if CBC programming changes across Canada. It's listed in Windsor, Ontario, but not in British Columbia.
• I've divided up the Interviews by year so they don't take as long to download. There are two new ones.

• Happy birthday to the Queen Mum, who, I've just learned, was born in Scotland!

• I've just gotten my issue of TV Guide, and it says that CIRCLES OF DECEIPT [sic] is showing on CBC at 10pm on Saturday. I have NO idea who's right, so if you can watch CBC on Saturday and really want to see the movie, I suggest you give it a try, even thought I can't guarantee it'll be on. Sorry!

• US: Tonight's "ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT" has some info about the filming of THE MUMMY RETURNS. John Hannah is in the background in one scene. Check local listings!

Canada: Although it's listed in the Yahoo TV listings, CBC's website says CIRCLES OF DECEIT isn't showing Saturday. I'm still going to watch to be sure, but I would think CBC would be more reliable than Yahoo.

• The Quotes page is dead.  Long live the Quotes page (or not).  I eliminated it because I never got around to doing anything with it and I realized that quotes taken out of context are the reason JH had a reputation for bad-mouthing his home town of East Kilbride.  So it's outta here.  Sorry!
• On a note totally unrelated to the latest site updates, I recently rented the audiobook "Golf in the Kingdom" by Michael Murphy.  John Hannah reads the book on tape.  It was a rather interesting story, and I don't even know anything about golf or mysticism.  I'd recommend you leaf through the book to find out if it's something that you would enjoy.  Even if you don't "get" the book, the audiotape features plenty of John Hannah saying "birdie" - so what could be better than that?  ;)

• During an online chat today, Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep in THE MUMMY) revealed that John Hannah injured his knee while filming THE MUMMY RETURNS.  He says that John will be resting it for about a week before returning to the set.

• For those of you who were not able to see it, the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actor in an Action Film went to LL Cool J for Deep Blue Sea.  None of the other awards for which members of THE MUMMY's cast were nominated were shown on the broadcast.  Looks like all that clicking I did was for naught.  :)
• REBUS: THE HANGING GARDEN is set to be shown in the UK in the fall.  The cast includes:

• This winter, they will be filming two more films for the REBUS series - one based on the book 'Dead Souls' and the other based on one of the earlier books.

• UK:  From 26 June to 1 October, the National Portrait Gallery in London will be showing a photography exhibition called "Tartan Army".  Photographer Donald MacLellan's collection is of Scottish actors and actresses, and dedicated to the late actor Ian Bannen.  Included in the exhibition are Peter Capaldi, Robert Carlyle, Billy Connolly, Brian Cox, Alan Cumming, Douglas Henshall, Joe McFadden, Angus MacFayden, Ewan McGregor, Gail Porter, Dougray Scott, Ken Stott, and Tilda Swinton.  There's no word yet on whether John Hannah is among the actors photographed.  I'll keep you posted.

• US: John Hannah was nominated for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for "Favorite Supporting Actor in an Action Film" (in THE MUMMY).  The show will be broadcast this Tuesday, 20 June, at 8 (7 Central) on FOX.  Best of luck to John and his MUMMY costars!
• US: I've announced before that the video of THE HURRICANE will be available to rent on 11 July.  I've now found out that the DVD will be available to buy or rent on the 11th as well.

• In case you can't tell, news around here has been pretty slow.  THE MUMMY RETURNS is currently filming (probably in London's Shepperton Studios).  I haven't heard any reports from the front on that one recently, so all we've got is a few announcements about old work:
• THE JAMES GANG is being re-released on PAL format video on 17 July.

• UK:SO THIS IS ROMANCE? is playing tomorrow at 12:10 am (Ondigital) and 3:45 am.  It turns out you can tape from Sky Premier after all - we had it confused with Sky Box Office.

• Universal Pictures has announced that the title of the sequel to THE MUMMY has been changed from THE MUMMY 2 to THE MUMMY RETURNS.

• Netherlands: IMDb gives the Dutch release date for CIRCUS as 14 September 2000.
• UK: SO THIS IS ROMANCE? is going to be playing again in the UK on Sky Premier.  On 25 May, it will be playing at 12:10 am (Ondigital) and 3:45 am.  Unfortunately, you can't tape from Sky Premier, so you'll have to stay up and watch!

• When on earth does THE MUMMY 2 start filming?  And where?  I've heard that they've already done some shooting in Morocco, I've heard that they started today in London, I've heard that London shooting starts next week...  Well, whenever the actual date is, it's MUMMY 2 season, folks!
• The premiere for CIRCUS is tonight!  The UK release is this Friday, 5 May.

• Did you UK fans catch JH on "THE BIG BREAKFAST" this morning?  Here's the report from Dark Horizons:
The Mummy 2: John Hannah appeared on UK show "The Big Breakfast" yesterday morning to have  a chat about things and dropped word that the first day of shooting took place that very day (May 2nd) on the sequel to "The Mummy". The actor also had what one reader describes as "an Errol Flynn-type" moustache which Director Stephen Sommers doesn't know about (so he may have to shave it off for the flick). Why'd he grow it? Seems he considers his character as "The Mummy's  answer to Shaggy from Scooby Doo", and thus wanted to give himself a bit more "Oomph" - yeah, right. Thanks to 'Mr Chuff'.

• The cast of THE MUMMY 2 are apparently back in England after a trip to Morocco.  They are rumoured to be filming at Shepperton Studios this week.
• Australia: "CIVVIES" is going to be playing Thursdays in May on UKTV in Australia.  JH is reported to have appeared on this TV movie or TV series, which also featured his SLIDING DOORS costar/director Peter Howitt and his "OUT OF THE BLUE" costar Lennie James.  If anyone out there sees "CIVVIES" and can confirm John Hannah's involvement, please email me.  I will be forever grateful.  If you record me a copy, I will be even more grateful.  :)
• It's another big week for British John Hannah fans...
• UK: SO THIS IS ROMANCE will be showing at 4 am on 3 May on Sky Premiere.  Once again, great bundles of gratitude are in store for anyone who has a review, synopsis, or extra videotaped copy for their favorite JH fan site manager (um, that would be me.  And I'm not too proud to beg.)  It's one of the projects we know the least about so any information you can pass along would be much appreciated.
• UK: JH will be doing the voiceover for a nature series called "PREDATORS".  It will last for six weeks beginning 4 May at 8:30 on BBC1.  I think it's about birds.

• I've received a report that "MCCALLUM" is showing Sundays at 8pm on Trio TV again.  If you have the DirecTV satellite system, then lucky you!  It is also showing on TV Ontario, if you are within their viewing area.
• The BAFTAs (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) are coming up.  THE MUMMY was nominated for Visual Effects and for the Orange Audience Award.

• Hey look, I purposely avoided an April Fool's Day update because I'm not creative enough to come up with a good AFD joke to play on you all.  :)
• INSPECTOR REBUS may be released under the title REBUS or possibly the individual episode names: BLACK AND BLUE and THE HANGING GARDEN.  As there hasn't been much publicity for the series, it's possible that I was mistaken in reporting that it will begin April 11th in the UK.  It may be later than that.  You keep your eyes pealed and I'll do the same.
• I believe that Total Film Magazine's May issue comes with a CD-ROM of movie trailers, including one for CIRCUS.  You might want to check that out.
• Ain't-it-Cool-News published a rather negative script review of THE MUMMY 2 a few weeks ago, and they've now published an interesting article about Stephen Sommers' reaction to the review and some details about the sequel.  (Check it out if only for the entertaining animated Harry-head!)
• Three weeks to JH's birthday!

Site Updates: I've added pictures from CIRCUS and INSPECTOR REBUS and a new (old) interview from 1999 that's mostly about the INSPECTOR REBUS series.  I've also added a section in the filmography for undated films/projects that we've heard of in connection with JH.  These are films or TV work from his past that have been mentioned in filmographies or interviews, for which we don't have dates or much information.

• The Oscars quickly approach!  As I said of the Golden Globes, I doubt that we'll see JH there, as awards ceremonies aren't exactly his "cup of meat" (to quote... Bob Dylan, I think) and he wasn't nominated.  Maybe we'll see the cast of THE MUMMY on video link from the desert for June's Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, since several of them were nominated and they'll be together filming THE MUMMY 2.
• THE LOVE BUG might be coming up on television in the UK - or it may be the original version.  Ah, the eternal question.  Check your listings to see which one will be on this Sunday evening.

• See the CIRCUS page for information about release dates in the UK, Sweden, and Australia.  I still don't have any information on the US release of the film, although I would expect it to come out in late Spring or early Summer.  The Sony Pictures website doesn't mention it at all, which is a bit worrying, but JH seemed to think in December that it would be released here.

• Dark Horizons brings us this news from THE MUMMY 2:
"Permission has now been apparently secured to film extensively around The British Museum in Central London. The surrounding streets are due to be closed off for two weeks in places, while period settings are rigged up. Part of the casting call that's gone out is looking for dress extras for a lecture scene, where Racheal Weisz's character brings them and the audience up to speed as the film begins, using slides and film clips, to show how many of the artifacts from the first film's dig were recovered and brought back to London. There's also a sequence that's being costed out for a chase across the rooftops of Bloomsbury (A still intact Victorian area near the museum), with Weisz and Brendan Fraser being pursued by minions of the Mummy."

• CIRCUS is expected to be released in the UK in summer or autumn.  As it's funded by Columbia Pictures, we can probably expect it in the US before then.

• I've linked to an article by Ian Rankin.  It's about his experiences on the set of the TV series "INSPECTOR REBUS", which is based on his series of 'Inspector Rebus' novels.  He has lots of funny and nice things to say about JH.

• John Hannah has been nominated for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for "Favorite Supporting Actor in an Action Film" for THE MUMMY.  The Sixth Annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, which honor starring and supporting actors, music artists, and video games, will be televised on FOX in June.  JH is competing against Ving Rhames (ENTRAPMENT) and L.L. Cool J (DEEP BLUE SEA).  As Rachel Weisz, Brendan Fraser, and Arnold Vosloo have also been nominated, maybe there will be a break in the filming of THE MUMMY 2 or at least video greetings from the cast shown at the awards.  Click here to vote for the awards!

• THE MUMMY 2 news:  Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser have signed on to reappear in the sequel to the popular 1999 blockbuster THE MUMMY, according to Reuters.  John Hannah has already agreed to be in the sequel.  The article reveals that in the sequel, O'Connell (BF) and Evelyn (RW) will be married with a nine-year-old son.  Possible filming locations include Egypt, London and Morocco.

• According to the British tabloid The Sunday Mail, there were some drug busts on the set of "INSPECTOR REBUS".  John Hannah was not present, however, although the picture accompanying the story could lead people to believe otherwise.
• In international JH news, I believe "MCCALLUM" is being shown and THE MUMMY is being released in Denmark, TRUTH OR DARE is being shown in the US on BBC America, THE INTRUDER is being released in France on 12 January, and a whole lot of JH's work, including "OUT OF THE BLUE" and RESURRECTION MAN, is being shown in Australia.  If you want more information on this, visit the JHAC or email me.

• I've been hearing bits and pieces from people who have worked on "INSPECTOR REBUS" but still don't know when it will be shown.  Hopefully my "spies" will find that out soon.  Speaking  of spies, here's a link to an interesting news article about Ian Rankin, the author of the novels it's based on.

• News has been coming in via email and the guestbook about JH's most recent projects.  Amy Chandler wrote in the guestbook about an actual encounter with JH on the PANDAEMONIUM set:
I have always liked him, but recently met him on the film set of his new film Pandamonium - he plays Wordsworth. I ended up chatting to him for about half an hour. He was absolutely GORGEOUS, and so down to earth. He has the most beautiful voice in the world. I had the most lovely chat with him, trying to act normal, although I felt like I was going to pass out with the excitement. He is simply wonderful.
• And the call has gone out... they are looking for extras for the "INSPECTOR REBUS" series.  I have heard from people who are interviewing for extra parts in the series and also from Gareth, who wrote in the guestbook:
I just thought I would tell you that the Cairns Agency is looking for up to 400 extras for the Inspector Rebus filmingin edinburgh and around scotland. So if you would like a part call 0141-550-7208. They're filming from mid Nov to mid Feb, no experience is necessary.
So if you're in the Edinburgh area and are John Hannah fan (or an Ian Rankin fan!) or are interested in acting, you might like to get in touch with the Cairns Agency and get a tryout.
• In other news, the official Universal Pictures site for THE HURRICANE has been revamped.  Apparently there are still more changes to come, but in the meantime you can satisfy your curiosity about the movie by watching the trailer (there's only one shot of JH though, and not even a hint about the Canadian accent...).
• I still haven't heard anything about releasing THE INTRUDER anywhere other than Italy, but an Italian contact said it was quite good.  I'll try to get her review on here soon.

• According to an "Anonymous Surfer", JH was seen recently filming in "George Square, by Edinburgh University".  We knew JH was probably working on "INSPECTOR REBUS" or PANDAEMONIUM right now, and since it's a Scottish location and they didn't mention anything about costumes, I'm going to assume that the Anonymous Surfer saw him working on "INSPECTOR REBUS".  Anonymous Surfer, if you read this, I hope you'll contact me, because I'd like to hear anything else you can tell me.
• THE INTRUDER comes out in Italy on November 19.  No news yet on release dates anywhere else!
• The latest news in upcoming projects for John Hannah is Dan Films' TEETH, an 18th century Gothic horror story written and directed by Chris Newby (MADAGASCAR SKIN). Producers are Zero Film from Germany, Isabella Films from the Netherlands and WAVE Productions from Denmark.

• Not too much JH news recently... I haven't heard anything new about THE INTRUDER or even THE HURRICANE for a while.  I haven't heard anything about CIRCUS in a long time, but I don't know if that means anything.  I suspect that THE WATERHORSE and MR BENN have been lost somewhere in the development stage.  Doesn't look too good for those two...hopefully they'll make it.  PANDAEMONIUM, however, has an IMDb page now.

• Something is wrong with Geocities or something, and NO ONE (including me!) is able to get to this site right now through the WWW.  Oh dear.  I may have to look into leaving Geocities... does anyone have any suggestions of web-hosts with minimal advertising and at least 10 MB free space?  Well, I've emailed Geocities and hopefully they'll be able to do something about it and I won't have to leave them.  In the mean time, I'll keep updating so that you'll have something to read when the page reappears.
• Joanna Roth's movie BLUE BOY will be showing on BBC America on Saturday, October 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET, 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. PT.  The movie stars Emma Thompson and Adrian Dunbar and is described as a "chilling, supernatural thriller".  [Sounds familiar... the Roth-Hannahs seem to do a lot of those...]
• "BETWEEN THE LINES" is still running on BBC America (the site doesn't tell when) and TRUTH OR DARE will also be showing on October 30.  For TOD show times, see my TRUTH OR DARE page or the BBC America site.

• I don't have any new JH news at the moment, so I suppose for today it will have to be only...
• Site Updates:  Thanks to Stezi, there are several new pictures from SLIDING DOORS and THE MUMMY.  There's also my review of RESURRECTION MAN, which I saw this weekend (very gruesome!).

• According to the official site's contact-person, "[THE INTRUDER's] release date is about 6 weeks away."  He's in England, so I'll get back to you if I find out when/if it's being released in the U.S. or elsewhere.  The London premiere is next Tuesday, so there should be more information after that!
• Site Updates:  The site is up for JH's upcoming film, THE INTRUDER!  That is, the official site is up, as well as my own THE INTRUDER page.  I added TI pictures to my pictures page (and emailed asking for permission... hopefully they give it or I'll have to take them down), and also added a cool animated gif from SLIDING DOORS.

• BBC America showed Truth or Dare on September 25 and I believe they're still showing the series "Between the Lines", in one episode of which John Hannah made a guest appearance.
• The Mummy was released on video and DVD in the United States on the September 28.
• Site Updates: There are new pictures from Four Weddings and a Funeral and Truth or Dare, and a new page for JH's TV Guest Appearances.
• On a side note, I have created a Sliding Doors site (although it's still under some construction) which is completely separate from the John Hannah site.  It has some pictures of the other characters in the movie, and should have some fun stuff on it eventually.

• Four Weddings and a Funeral came in at #23 in the British Film Institute's Top 100 British films of the century.

• Resurrection Man was apparently released to rent in the US in July.  I haven't seen it and therefore have no proof that this is true, but you might want to keep an eye out for it next time you are out renting movies.
• It seems The Hurricane was a big hit at the 1999 Toronto International Film Festival.  You may not see many reviews of it, however, because it was shown as a work-in-progress and professional reviewers were asked not to write about it (apparently director Norman Jewison didn't want people to comment on an unfinished product).  I've read some articles that don't go into much detail but do mention that the film was given a ten-minute standing ovation.
• JH's new film Pandemonium (may be spelled "Pandaemonium") is being directed by Julien Temple (The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle).  In addition to JH and Linus Roache, the film will feature Samantha Morton and Emily Woof (The Full Monty, Velvet Goldmine).  It is being filmed currently in Somerset, Cornwall, the Lake District, and London.
• Joanna Roth's latest venture, the play 50 Revolutions, has had widely varied reviews.  They appear to like the actors, though, as The Evening Standard says "fortunately, Michele Austin, Joanna Roth, Nicholas Clay, Nathaniel Parker, Hugh Ross and Amanda Root give such powerful performances that they regularly kick start this flamboyant contraption of a satirical comedy to intermittent life."
• Site Updates:  I have added some new photos and links in the individual movie sections and updated several of the pages.  I have also started another project - a Sliding Doors web site.  It's a work in progress, though, (like The Hurricane!) so please be patient...problems will be fixed!)

• JH is scheduled to start filming the BBC Films' movie "Pandemonium" on Monday.  In it, he will play the poet William Wordsworth.  For more information, go to the Entertainment Tonight Online story.  Robert Carlyle was originally cast as Coleridge opposite JH's Wordsworth (wouldn't that have been something!), but he has pulled out due to health concerns and Linus Roache is replacing him.
• As for the site, I spent the whole day putting in the drop-down menus in an effort to make the it easier to navigate and update.  I also added a picture from The James Gang and one from McCallum, a new interview or two, and some new information in the upcoming movies section.  I finally unveiled the still-a-work-in-progress Quotes page (email me if you have suggestions for additions to this page!)

• I've revamped the Articles and Interviews page and added a few.
• Some JH news:  JH has been doing radio commercials in the UK.  For the longest time, we non-Brits in the JHAC lamented the fact that we can't hear these commercials.  Then it was pointed out to us that we have the option of Internet Radio.  Some British radio stations that play JH's commercials include: Classic FM (classical), Jazz FM (jazz), Kiss FM (dance music), Premier Radio (Christian radio with some music), Virgin Radio (classic rock and current chart and indie), and XFM(indie).  Thanks, denzylle!

• Haven't done much over the Labor Day weekend except add sites to the webring.  Sorry.  There probably won't be too much new info available for a while, till we get close to the release of The Hurricane (maybe there'll be a resurgence when The Mummy comes out on video, though!) but I'll try to keep adding new features to the website.

• John Hannah and Joanna Roth were spotted in London yesterday by a friend of a friend.  He was very friendly and polite and talked to her for about ten minutes.  He said he is currently filming a TV series based on the "Inspector Rebus" mystery novels by Ian Rankin.  Joanna will be on stage in "50 Revolutions" at the Whitehall Theatre in London from September 7-25.

• Poll results are out in the UK on viewer's opinion of sex on television and their TV turn-ons.  "McCallum" is listed as one of the top turn-on TV shows and specific events from the show are mentioned (I won't go into detail on this site, but you can read for yourself)

'Intruder', described as a thriller, started filming on January 18 1999 in Montreal, so it must be done. Looks like the four months JH said he spent in Canada was 'Hurricane' and 'Intruder' almost back to back. I saw it described previously as 'a husband peeps into his wife's diary and wishes he hadn't'. This says ' a woman haunted by the ghost of her husband's murdered first wife'

'Mummy 2' only shows Brendan Fraser.  'The Mummy moves to London'. Scheduled for release summer 2001 so, if he does do it, I suppose filming next spring / summer."

16 July 1999:  I've  added some new pictures along the way since July 2nd...I created the ListBot list so that you can be notified when srah's John Hannah fan site is updated...It is rumored (and I highly suspect that it is true) that John Hannah's birthday is August 5, 1962.  I won't put it on the biography page until I'm able to verify it somehow...and THANK YOU ALL -- I've now had over 10,000 visits to the site!

2 July 1999:  There's several new pictures, new pages for "Madagascar Skin" and "Truth or Dare", the site is listed as a "miscellaneous" link for John Hannah on the Internet Movie Database, and the Scottish Parliament is open!  That's all the news and site updates for today...Please enjoy the site.

8 June 1999:  I'm back!  It's been a while since I've updated, but  to make up for it, I've changed quite a bit.  There are several new photos on the pictures page, and - because my old one was acting up - a new guestbook, with more fascinating questions to answer.  Please do!...There is a small article on John Hannah in the May issue of Jane magazine, so run out and buy it before the next issue comes out!  It's the one with Neve Campbell on the cover...Keep signing the guestbook and emailing me - I love to hear from you...

9 May 1999: I added new pictures from "McCallum" and "Four Weddings"...saw the movie and updated the review of "The Mummy"...I realized it's the Book of Amun-ra rather than a lantern in the Mummy picture...made some changes to the quizlet...JH's accent in "The Mummy" *is* English, for those of you who wondered...go see "The Mummy"!..."TM" opened at #1 and earned an estimated $44.6 million this weekend (the highest ever for a non-summer opening), according to Yahoo! News..."Sliding Doors" will be released for sale on video in the US on June 8...

27 April 1999:  Okay, this isn't really "news"...it's more like "gossip" or "hearsay" but according to one person on the yahoo! messageboard about "The Mummy," "rachel weise and the scottish dude both have a HEAVY english accent" in the movie.  I don't know how accurate that is, but if it's true, I think it's a shame...I hope someone who has seen John Hannah's other works [someone from the UK, maybe?] will write up a description that I can use (credited to you of course!) for the filmography section...I love to get feedback from you John Hannah fans out there so keep on signing the guestbook and emailing me!...10 days to "The Mummy"...
