10 June 2002:

DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE is currently filming in Vilnius, Lithuania. The cast list is posted. We have also discovered an older project we didn't know about: CAMOUFLAGE.
I'm traveling to Chile for three weeks, so there won't be any updates in the meantime... but hopefully there will be some John Hannah news to report when I get back!

29 May 2002:

US/Canada: WNED, the PBS station in Buffalo, NY, is showing the first series of "MCCALLUM" Friday nights at 9pm.
Germany: "MCCALLUM" is showing on Premiere Krimi and CIRCUS is showing on Premiere 3 & 5.
US: John's "ALIAS" episode, "Color-Blind" is going to be rerunning on Sunday, June 9 on ABC.
Canada: CIRCUS is showing on The Movie Network on June 6, 18 and 24.
UK: BEFORE YOU GO will be released in theatres on June 21.

23 May 2002:

UK: THE HURRICANE will be on Sky Premier 4 at 8pm tonight.
Canada: John Hannah's episodes of "ALIAS" will start Sunday, 26 May, at 10:10pm on CTV.

15 May 2002:

John Hannah's US television pilot, "THE OATH", has been picked up by ABC. The name of the series has been changed to "MEDS" and the name of John's character (previously Dr Hugo Del Toro) has been changed to the more Scottish-sounding Dr Dalgety. The show will appear in ABC's fall lineup, Wednesdays at 10pm/9c.
US: THE HURRICANE is showing on Encore and THE MUMMY RETURNS is running on Starz!.

28 April 2002:

UK: THE HURRICANE will show 1 May at 10:00pm on Sky Premier.

23 April 2002:

Happy 40th birthday to John!
US: THE INNOCENT SLEEP is still showing on IFC and THE MUMMY shows from time to time on TNT.
UK: THE HURRICANE will be on Sky Premier on Thursday 25 April at 10:00pm.
Germany: "MCCALLUM"'s pilot episode, "Key to My Heart" will be shown on Premiere Krimi (Pay TV) on Friday 10 May at 11:30pm and Saturday 11 May at 5:05am.
ROMANCE AND REJECTION and "ALIAS" were both on sale at the MIP TV market in Cannes earlier this month. Hopefully this means that they will be shown on television in more countries.

3 April 2002:

US: THE INNOCENT SLEEP is currently showing on the Independent Film Channel (IFC).
UK: PREDATORS is rerunning again. All six episodes will be shown back-to-back on UK Horizons Sunday, 7 April, beginning at 2pm.
Australia: THE MUMMY will be shown as a network premiere on channel 10 next Sunday, 7 April, at 8:30pm.
Germany: I'M WITH LUCY will be released 1 August 2002, according to IMDb.
France: I'M WITH LUCY will be released 4 September 2002, according to IMDb.
Among the cast members talked about for John's US television pilot, THE OATH, are William Fichtner, Ed Hermann, Robert Jay, Jacqueline MacKenzie, Aunjanue Ellis, Aimee Garcia, Michaela Conlin, and Jane Lynch.

Austria: THE MUMMY will show 1 April at 8:15pm on ORF1.

12 March 2002:

US: ABC has announced the series it will be trying out for next season's lineup. One of the series is "THE OATH", a medical drama starring John Hannah!
The John Hannah Appreciation Club has been moved to a new location by the evil whims of Yahoo!. Please change your bookmarks or visit if you haven't already. We are not sure yet if we'll be staying in that location, but all members will be notified if we decide to move again.
BEFORE YOU GO had its first screening at the American Film Market in Santa Monica this week and I'M WITH LUCY has been mentioned in several recent articles as an upcoming release.

US: "ALIAS" will be rerunning on the ABC Family network beginning tonight.

17 February 2002:

UK: PAUL CALF'S VIDEO DIARY shows on BBC2 on Saturday 23 February at 9:40pm.

14 February 2002:

Happy Valentine's Day!
US: PANDAEMONIUM is now available on DVD.
UK: Tomorrow night (15th February) at 8pm you have FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL on FilmFour. THE MUMMY will be on Sky Premier at 10pm on the 16th. 19 February at 6pm on UK Horizons, there will be two episodes of "PREDATORS". RESURRECTION MAN will be shown 21 February at 3:50am on FilmFour. THE HURRICANE will be 22 February at 11:40pm (on Film Four?).
John Hannah may be returning as Martin Shepard in upcoming episodes of "ALIAS". I'll keep you posted if I hear anything else.

4 February 2002:

UK: THE MUMMY will be on Sky Premier tonight at 8pm.
Australia: "ALIAS" will start on channel 7 on 11 February in Sydney. John's episodes, "Reckoning" and "Color Blind" should be shown in mid to late March.
UK: A picture of John Hannah will be in the "1 in 4" exhibition by Brian Moody. The exhibition consists of photographs of people who have suffered mental health problems and is for Mind Out for Mental Health. It's at the Gallery@Oxo, Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street, London SE1 from 7 - 17 February, 11am to 6pm.
Germany: THE HURRICANE will be showing on Premiere Pay-TV on March 2 and 3. THE FINAL CUT will be on 3 SAT on March 4 and CIRCUS on Premiere Pay TV March 5, 6, and 8.

31 January 2002:

John Hannah's BROND costar, Stratford Johns, passed away this week.
US: THE HURRICANE is on the Starz! channel this weekend.
Canada: The last two REBUS films, DEAD SOULS and MORTAL CAUSES, will be showing in two parts each on TV Ontario Wednesdays at 9 in February. DEAD SOULS begins 13 February and MORTAL CAUSES 27 February.
Although we have no information on funding or when filming will begin, the Clerkenwell Films project SOHO seems to be taking off under a new title, TAKING PICTURES. Elizabeth Perkins is to co-star with John in the story of an art gallery owner who falls in love with a con artist.

22 January 2002:

Canada: TV Ontario is airing "MCCALLUM" nightly at 12:30 am.
US: THE MUMMY is showing on TNT and CIRCUS is on HBO.

20 January 2002:

Australia: "ALIAS" will be showing on Channel 7 starting in February.

17 January 2002:

UK: John Hannah's narration continues in the genetics documentary "BITTER INHERITANCE" Thursdays at 9:50pm on BBC2. More episodes will be shown 24 and 31 January and 7 February.
US: CIRCUS is still playing on HBO. I'M WITH LUCY has found a U.S. distributor in Columbia TriStar.

11 January 2002:

US: CIRCUS is going to be on HBO Tuesday 15 January at 2:50am.

US: THE MUMMY is showing on TNT Saturday, 12 January at 8pm.

Happy New Year!
UK: John Hannah narrates "BITTER INHERITANCE" on BBC2 on Thursday 10 January at 9:50pm. It is a documentary about a genetic disorder and the hunt to alert and treat members of a family who might be affected. "ALIAS" starts on Sky One on 23 January. John's performance in his two episodes is excellent - so try to catch it if you have the opportunity! John's wife, Joanna Roth, can be seen in "IN DEEP" on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 January at 9:00pm on BBC1.
THE MEMORY OF WATER seems to have had a title change to BEFORE YOU GO. I'll try to get that changed on the site when I get back to school (in about a week).

Site Update: I've updated some information on "TAGGART" and hope to do so soon for BROND.

31 December 2001:

US: THE MUMMY RETURNS will show on TNT 4 January at 8pm, 5 January at 9pm and 6 January at 8pm.

18 December 2001:

PANDAEMONIUM will be released on Region 1 DVD and (at rental prices) NTSC-VHS the 12th of February. It is also scheduled to be released on PAL-VHS and Region 2 DVD in early 2002 and may be shown on the BBC in the UK, as it was made by BBC Films.

12 December 2001:

France: THE HURRICANE (HURRICANE CARTER) will be showing on Canal+ 13 December at 10am and 14 December at 11:15pm.

9 December 2001:

UK: "PREDATORS" will be showing daily from 23 - 28 December at 6:00pm on UK Horizons. THE HURRICANE can be seen at 12:50am Wednesday 2 January on Sky Premier.

8 December 2001:

UK: SLIDING DOORS will be showing at 10:55pm on Christmas Day on BBC1. FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL shows Wednesday, 26 December at 8.00pm on FilmFour. THE LOVE BUG shows Thursday, 3 January at 1:45pm on BBC1.
US: THE MUMMY RETURNS is showing on Pay-per-view and THE MUMMY will have its "network" television premiere 4 January on TNT.

UK: THE FINAL CUT shows on Channel 5 on Sunday 16 December at 9:00pm. Also, we've heard that Sky will be broadcasting "ALIAS" starting in early 2002.

30 November 2001:

UK: "THE NATURAL WORLD" is rerunning, so look out for the JH-narrated episode "Crater: Africa's Predator Paradise", which may be coming up on a Sunday night soon at 6pm on BBC2. John may also have narrated the "Yeti" episode of the series "IN SEARCH OF MYTHICAL MONSTERS" which is rerunning at 8pm Fridays on Channel 4.

28 November 2001:

Did you know you can buy and sell John Hannah on the Internet? He is one of the commodities in the Hollywood Stock Exchange, a free online stock market where you can buy and trade virtual shares in movies or celebrities and watch their popularity rise and fall like a real stock market. 27 November 2001:

UK: THE MUMMY RETURNS comes out on video and DVD this Friday, November 30. PANDAEMONIUM is showing as part of a double-feature with Julien Temple's VIGO: A PASSION FOR LIFE at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London W6 on Wednesday, December 5. VIGO... shows at 6:45 and PANDAEMONIUM is at 8:50pm.
Shepard-fanfic has hit the Internet already! John Hannah's "ALIAS" appearances were popular enough that his character is already appearing in fan fiction and many fans are hoping he'll return for more episodes. Here's an example.

26 November 2001:

JH made another wonderful appearance on "ALIAS" and there is a new photo from the first episode, "Reckoning", on the Pictures page.

Our condolences to the friends and family of John Hannah's FOUR WEDDINGS co-star Charlotte Coleman (Scarlett), who died of an asthma attack this week at the age of 33.

16 November 2001:

US/Canada: The first of John Hannah's two "ALIAS" episodes should finally be shown this Sunday, 18 November at 9/8c on ABC.

US/Canada: What a disappointment! With no previous warning, ABC replaced this weeks' episode of "ALIAS" with "THE PRACTICE". It has been postponed until the 18th, meaning that JH's two episodes will be shown back-to-back on the 18th and 25th of November. This way it won''t compete with UPRISING or the Emmys, but it would have been nice to know before! Hope this didn't mess up anyone's plans too much...

3 November 2001:

US (and Canada?): Don't forget the first of JH's "ALIAS" episodes, "Reckoning" will be on tomorrow night at 9/8c on ABC! The second will follow in two weeks.

UK: Two of John Hannah's films are playing in London: THE HURRICANE at Cineworld in Wood Green and Bexleyheath on (or from?) Wednesday 31 October and PANDAEMONIUM at the Prince Charles in the West End, today at 3:15pm and Monday 29 October, at 1:00pm.

21 October 2001:

UK: PREDATORS is rerunning on UK Horizons and began at 3:30 this afternoon.

20 October 2001:

US: The latest on "ALIAS" is that John Hannah's episodes will be shown 4 and 18 November, with SAVING PRIVATE RYAN showing on the 11th. For more information about the episodes, see the "ALIAS" page.

18 October 2001:

US: According to Reuters and Variety, John Hannah's first "ALIAS" episode will be shown 4 November, rather than 11 November.

15 October 2001:

Canada: TMN (The Movie Network) will be showing CIRCUS in eastern Canada (on "Super Channel" in the west?). Dates include 15, 19, 23, and 27 October. Check your listings for times. US: The predicted transmission dates for JH's "ALIAS" episodes are 11 and 18 November.

11 October 2001:

US: JH has filmed a couple of guest appearances on ABC's new fall show "ALIAS". No news yet on when the episodes will be shown.

Iceland: REBUS: BLACK AND BLUE will be replayed next Saturday on RUV-1 at 11:25pm.

26 September 2001:

UK: THE HURRICANE will be on Sky Premier Tuesday 2 October at 10:10pm. On Thursday 4 October at 8:00pm on BBC Knowledge, they will be showing "TELL ME THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE", a special about the life of poet W.H. Auden, which includes some clips of John Hannah reading Auden's poem in FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL.

19 September 2001:

UK: Saturday 22 Septemberis the UK television premiere of THE HURRICANE at 8:00pm on Sky Premier. Friday, 28 September, is PAULINE CALF'S WEDDING VIDEO at 9:40pm on UK Gold, repeated at 2:30am on Saturday morning.

16 September 2001:

UK: PANDAEMONIUM is also showing in London at the Odeon Wardour Street (Leicester Square) at 12:40, 3:15, 5:50 and 8:25pm daily and at the UGC Haymarket at 2:10, 5:40 and 8:35pm daily.

11 September 2001:

UK: PANDAEMONIUM is showing in one London theatre that we know of: the Everyman in Hampstead, at 6:15pm and 9pm beginning Friday (except Tuesday the 18th, which is 5:15pm and 7:45pm, and Saturday, when there is an additional 3pm show). Go and see it if you can - it's wonderful!

UK: PANDAEMONIUM will be released 14 September in selected theatres in the UK. The new website is up here.

UK: PANDAEMONIUM will be showing at the Chichester Film Festival on Sunday 26 August at 3:45pm at the Chichester Cinema.
US/Canada?: THE MUMMY RETURNS will be out on video to buy beginning 2 October.

12 August 2001:

Finland: REBUS begins next week. Check local listings for more information.
UK: REBUS begins in September. 6 September - THE HANGING GARDEN, 13 September - DEAD SOULS, 20 September - MORTAL CAUSES. BLACK AND BLUE will not be reshown at this time as previously believed. The John Hannah covers for Ian Rankin's Dead Souls and Mortal Causes will be available in September as well.
Site updates: There have been changes to a number of pages, but it's mostly just rearranging. New pictures will be coming soon, I promise - after I get settled back in at school (next week).

REBUS: DEAD SOULS has been shown in Iceland and PANDAEMONIUM won at the Emden Film Festival in Germany.

25 July 2001:

I had a very nice vacation with my family and, among other things, got to meet John Hannah while I was gone! He was very nice and didn't make too much fun of my flusteredness and idiotic grinning. :)
UK: FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL is being shown as part of a Comedy Festival in London, at the Curzon SoHo at 10.30pm Saturday night. "PREDATORS", the nature program with JH narrating, begins repeats on BBC2 beginning Thursday 2 August at 8.00pm.

John Hannah has discovered the Internet!
See the Frequently Asked Questions page for a new contact address for JH at his new agency.
US: Happy 4th of July to all of the Americans out there. TRUTH OR DARE will be on BBC America the 8 July at 8pm.
Now I'm off on vacation for a few weeks... hopefully there will be new information when I return!

2 July 2001:

US: It appears that PANDAEMONIUM did not come out in New York and that it was only released in one theatre in Los Angeles. Hmph! Perhaps the release will be widened later? Or it will at least be released on video? USA Films - are you listening?

1 July 2001:

A "John Hannah" has been signing the guestbook and talking about his latest project, THE MEMORY OF WATER. I'm usually skeptical about these things, but we have reason to believe this is actually JH himself, filming on the Isle of Man with Oscar nominee Julie Walters! So good luck on this project, JH! It's marvelous to hear from you!
UK: THE INNOCENT SLEEP will be on today at 10:55pm on BBC1.

25 June 2001:

US: Don't forget, all of you New Yorkers and Los Angelinos - PANDAEMONIUM is coming soon to a theatre near you! USA Films will release the movie this Friday, 29 June - but the release will be limited to NYC and LA. Hopefully we'll get a wider US release later!
Site updates: I've made a few small changes to the FAQ, "MCCALLUM", and Dynamic Earth pages and added "UNTITLED ABC PROJECT" to the Upcoming page.

23 June 2001:

Site Update: Although the only ones that are actually new are a few REBUS pictures and one from FAITH, the Pictures page has been updated. Everything that was in the temporary Yahoo! gallery area is marked with a , since they're new to the Pictures page. I've also changed from Listbot to Yahoo! Groups for the update notification list, added JEKYLL AND HYDE to the Upcoming Films page and modified the pages for CIRCUS, THE MUMMY RETURNS, and I'M WITH LUCY.

7 June 2001:

John Hannah's agent has left Curtis Brown Group and joined the newly-formed ARG Talent. Assuming that JH followed her, his new contact address would be:

UK: Tonight on BBC 2, JH narrates "The Natural World", episode "Crater: Africa's Predator Paradise?".
France: THE INTRUDER (SUSPICION) will be on Canal+ 15 May at 8:30am.

UK: Lots of THE MUMMY RETURNS-related television and radio programs are coming up. 9 May at 7:00pm on Channel 5 is "The Movie Chart Show" (Brendan Fraser will be on, maybe other stars of the film as well). Sunday 13 May, 9:00am - 4:30pm, on Channel 4, it's "T4: Britney Spears Day" and for some reason, JH will be interviewed in the middle of it. I don't know when during the day he'll be interviewed, so you may have to put up with several hours of Britney while waiting for him. They're tricky like that at Channel 4. :p On 13 May at 7:45pm, SciFi Channel has "Behind the Scenes on The Mummy Returns".
Australia: THE INTRUDER is available to rent.

Real news is always nice! While projects like THE SIN GARDEN are a while off from actual production and some, like MR BENN, steadily bubble away in Funding Hell, Variety has information about John Hannah's next movie: I'M WITH LUCY. Production begins on April 16 in the United States on the romantic comedy which stars Monica Potter, Henry Thomas, and Anthony LaPaglia as well as JH. According to Variety, the story is about "the life of a late-twentysomething gal recently dumped by a man she had believed was her perfect mate. She then hurls herself into a disastrous series of blind dates only to learn that Mr. Perfect is not always right and Mr. Right is not always perfect." So is JH Mr Right or Mr Perfect? We shall see - I'll keep you posted!
UK: The release date of PANDAEMONIUM has been delayed until September, to avoid competition with other, bigger films.

Australia: Australia has John Hannah fever! The second series of "MCCALLUM" is going to be reshown on ABC, starting September 8th. After "MCCALLUM", keep your eyes open for REBUS.
US: I've received an email saying that CIRCUS will be released in the US on September 15. I haven't been able to confirm this yet or find out where it's being released. Keep an eye out in your local art-house theatres, as that's the most likely place for a small British film like this.

PANDAEMONIUM will be one of the Gala Screenings at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday 15 September at 9:30pm. As far as we can tell, this will be the world premiere of the film. (The film will be shown in November at the 44th London Film Festival. No word yet on theatrical release.)
Filming of THE MUMMY RETURNS has wrapped up in London, but there may be more filming to do in Petra, Jordan. I'm not sure if this would involve John Hannah.

16 August 2000:

In about three weeks, I'll be leaving the country on a study-abroad program. Though updates are usually pretty frequent during my school year, it's not likely that I'll have the time and Internet access to do as much with the site this year. UK: THE FINAL CUT shows on Channel 5 Wednesday 16 August at 9:00pm. JH is only in the first few minutes of the film.
UK: On Saturday, 19 August, ITV2 will have a "Behind the Scenes" evening from 8pm to midnight. One of the dramas included is REBUS. This may be a rerun of the "MAKING OF REBUS" special that was on the same night that REBUS: BLACK AND BLUE aired a few months ago.
If anyone wanted to know the results of the CIRCLES OF DECEIT mystery - it was shown in the Windsor, Ontario area, but not across Canada. It wasn't CIRCLES OF DECEIT: KALON, but another episode.

I've found another TV listing where CIRCLES OF DECEIT: KALON is listed for tonight at 10:30 pm. Now I'm wondering if CBC programming changes across Canada. It's listed in Windsor, Ontario, but not in British Columbia.

Canada: Although it's listed in the Yahoo TV listings, CBC's website says CIRCLES OF DECEIT isn't showing Saturday. I'm still going to watch to be sure, but I would think CBC would be more reliable than Yahoo.

Welcome to the new version of srah's John Hannah fan site. The changes are to the color scheme and fonts. I've also introduced non-underlined links. I think the dark text on a white background is easier to read than the old rainbow-on-black, and I'd had some complaints recently about it being hard to read. Please let me know what you think of the changes! Are they a problem, or do you like it better this way? Have any suggestions?
The Quotes page is dead. Long live the Quotes page (or not). I eliminated it because I never got around to doing anything with it and I realized that quotes taken out of context are the reason JH had a reputation for bad-mouthing his home town of East Kilbride. So it's outta here. Sorry!
On a note totally unrelated to the latest site updates, I recently rented the audiobook "Golf in the Kingdom" by Michael Murphy. John Hannah reads the book on tape. It was a rather interesting story, and I don't even know anything about golf or mysticism. I'd recommend you leaf through the book to find out if it's something that you would enjoy. Even if you don't "get" the book, the audiotape features plenty of John Hannah saying "birdie" - so what could be better than that? ;)

During an online chat today, Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep in THE MUMMY) revealed that John Hannah injured his knee while filming THE MUMMY RETURNS. He says that John will be resting it for about a week before returning to the set.

For those of you who were not able to see it, the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actor in an Action Film went to LL Cool J for Deep Blue Sea. None of the other awards for which members of THE MUMMY's cast were nominated were shown on the broadcast. Looks like all that clicking I did was for naught. :)

This winter, they will be filming two more films for the REBUS series - one based on the book 'Dead Souls' and the other based on one of the earlier books.

19 June 2000:

UK: From 26 June to 1 October, the National Portrait Gallery in London will be showing a photography exhibition called "Tartan Army". Photographer Donald MacLellan's collection is of Scottish actors and actresses, and dedicated to the late actor Ian Bannen. Included in the exhibition are Peter Capaldi, Robert Carlyle, Billy Connolly, Brian Cox, Alan Cumming, Douglas Henshall, Joe McFadden, Angus MacFayden, Ewan McGregor, Gail Porter, Dougray Scott, Ken Stott, and Tilda Swinton. There's no word yet on whether John Hannah is among the actors photographed. I'll keep you posted.

18 June 2000:

US: John Hannah was nominated for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for "Favorite Supporting Actor in an Action Film" (in THE MUMMY). The show will be broadcast this Tuesday, 20 June, at 8 (7 Central) on FOX. Best of luck to John and his MUMMY costars!
US: I've announced before that the video of THE HURRICANE will be available to rent on 11 July. I've now found out that the DVD will be available to buy or rent on the 11th as well.

In case you can't tell, news around here has been pretty slow. THE MUMMY RETURNS is currently filming (probably in London's Shepperton Studios). I haven't heard any reports from the front on that one recently, so all we've got is a few announcements about old work:
THE JAMES GANG is being re-released on PAL format video on 17 July.
THE HURRICANE is being released to rent in the US on 11 July.
UK: Saturday 17 June at 9:55 pm, FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL will be on Channel Four.

JH's radio appearance on "OK on Air" is scheduled to replay tomorrow at 9 pm BST on Capital Gold (I could be slightly off on the time - see capitalgold.com for their schedule). You should be able to hear a RealAudio broadcast on the Capital Gold website. This is assuming "OK on Air" isn't preempted by a sports.
UK:SO THIS IS ROMANCE? is playing tomorrow at 12:10 am (Ondigital) and 3:45 am. It turns out you can tape from Sky Premier after all - we had it confused with Sky Box Office.
UK: SLIDING DOORS will be playing on Sky Premier, Sunday 28 May at 9 pm.
UK: RESURRECTION MAN will be playing on Sky MovieMax, Monday 29 May at 11:45 pm.
UK: "BOON" (JH appeared in one episode) will be playing on Granada Plus next week and BBC2 will be showing the 70's cartoon series "MR BENN", on which John Hannah's MR BENN movie will be based.

18 May 2000:

Universal Pictures has announced that the title of the sequel to THE MUMMY has been changed from THE MUMMY 2 to THE MUMMY RETURNS.
JH will be on "OK on Air" on Capital Gold (radio station) in the UK today from 8-10 pm UK time. If you're not in the UK, you can listen through the Internet. Visit capitalgold.com for more information.
Netherlands: IMDb gives the Dutch release date for CIRCUS as 14 September 2000.
UK: SO THIS IS ROMANCE? is going to be playing again in the UK on Sky Premier. On 25 May, it will be playing at 12:10 am (Ondigital) and 3:45 am. Unfortunately, you can't tape from Sky Premier, so you'll have to stay up and watch!

Finland: FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL will be playing on mtv3 on 14 May, probably at 8 pm.
UK: Keep an ear out for JH narrating "PREDATORS", which I believe is still showing Thursdays on BBC1.

CIRCUS is released today in the UK!
The releases of REBUS: BLACK AND BLUE and CIRCUS have brought about a rash of UK television appearances for John Hannah:
UK: JH will be a guest on "TFI FRIDAY" on Channel 4 - at 6 pm today and at 12:25 am on Saturday.
UK: JH will also be making an appearance on "MOVIE CHART SHOW" on Sunday 7 May at 11:30 am on Channel 5.

2 May 2000:

When on earth does THE MUMMY 2 start filming? And where? I've heard that they've already done some shooting in Morocco, I've heard that they started today in London, I've heard that London shooting starts next week... Well, whenever the actual date is, it's MUMMY 2 season, folks!
The premiere for CIRCUS is tonight! The UK release is this Friday, 5 May.
UK: John Hannah will be interviewed on "BIG SCREEN" on ITV at 5 pm on 7 May.
Did you UK fans catch JH on "THE BIG BREAKFAST" this morning? Here's the report from Dark Horizons:

The Mummy 2: John Hannah appeared on UK show "The Big Breakfast" yesterday morning to have a chat about things and dropped word that the first day of shooting took place that very day (May 2nd) on the sequel to "The Mummy". The actor also had what one reader describes as "an Errol Flynn-type" moustache which Director Stephen Sommers doesn't know about (so he may have to shave it off for the flick). Why'd he grow it? Seems he considers his character as "The Mummy's answer to Shaggy from Scooby Doo", and thus wanted to give himself a bit more "Oomph" - yeah, right. Thanks to 'Mr Chuff'.

1 May 2000:

The cast of THE MUMMY 2 are apparently back in England after a trip to Morocco. They are rumoured to be filming at Shepperton Studios this week.
Australia: "CIVVIES" is going to be playing Thursdays in May on UKTV in Australia. JH is reported to have appeared on this TV movie or TV series, which also featured his SLIDING DOORS costar/director Peter Howitt and his "OUT OF THE BLUE" costar Lennie James. If anyone out there sees "CIVVIES" and can confirm John Hannah's involvement, please email me. I will be forever grateful. If you record me a copy, I will be even more grateful. :)
It's another big week for British John Hannah fans...
UK: SO THIS IS ROMANCE will be showing at 4 am on 3 May on Sky Premiere. Once again, great bundles of gratitude are in store for anyone who has a review, synopsis, or extra videotaped copy for their favorite JH fan site manager (um, that would be me. And I'm not too proud to beg.) It's one of the projects we know the least about so any information you can pass along would be much appreciated.
UK: JH will be doing the voiceover for a nature series called "PREDATORS". It will last for six weeks beginning 4 May at 8:30 on BBC1. I think it's about birds.
UK: CIRCUS is scheduled to be released in the UK on 5 May. Pre-release reviews have been rather negative, but I'm sure will do a good job in his role.
UK: The edition of Ian Rankin's Black and Blue with John Hannah on the cover has hit London bookstores.

John Hannah has suddenly become famous, with all of his media exposure for REBUS and CIRCUS and THE MUMMY 2. Unfortunately, and through no fault of his own, he has done so right in the middle of my final exams. I'm trying to keep up with the new pictures and interviews and articles that are flowing in, but it's not easy. Until early May, look out for heavy weekend updates if any.

Next week will be a big time for John Hannah fans in the UK. Wednesday (19 April), JH will be on "THIS MORNING" at 10:30 AM on ITV and in THE INNOCENT SLEEP at 9 PM on UK Drama. Thursday (20 April), MARY SHELLEY'S FRANKENSTEIN (with Joanna Roth) will be showing at 12:35 AM on FilmFour and THE INNOCENT SLEEP will be reshown on UK Drama at 1 AM.

11 April 2000:

Did you watch "THIS MORNING" this morning and miss John Hannah? There is good reason for that: he wasn't on. His appearance on the show, we now learn, has been moved to 19 April. This may or may not have something to do with the date of REBUS' BLACK AND BLUE episode being moved from today to the 26th.
