US/Canada: What
a disappointment! With no previous warning, ABC replaced this weeks'
episode of "ALIAS" with "THE PRACTICE".
It has been postponed until the 18th, meaning that JH's two episodes will
be shown back-to-back on the 18th and 25th of November. This way
it won''t compete with UPRISING or the Emmys, but it would have been nice
to know before! Hope this didn't mess up anyone's plans too much...
3 November
2001:

-
A "John Hannah" has been signing
the guestbook and talking about his latest project, THE
MEMORY OF WATER. I'm usually skeptical about these things, but

John Hannah's agent has left
Curtis Brown Group and joined the newly-formed ARG Talent. Assuming
that JH followed her, his new contact address would be:
John Hannah
c/o ARG Talent
3rd Floor
46 Maddox Street
London W1S 1QA
United Kingdom
However, I have
not yet heard anything definite about whether he is staying with his agent
or with Curtis Brown, so you might want to continue to use the Curtis
Brown address on the FAQ page until the new one's
been confirmed, and CBG would probably forward the mail if he's no longer
there. Thanks to Tami
and Denz for the information.
UK: I believe that
THE
INTRUDER is out on video and DVD now.
Germany: Wish I'd
found out sooner, but PANDAEMONIUM was

will be on, maybe other stars of the film as well). Sunday 13 May, 9:00am
- 4:30pm, on Channel 4, it's "T4: Britney Spears Day" and for some reason,
JH will be interviewed in the middle of it. I don't know when during the
day he'll be interviewed, so you may have to put up with several hours
of Britney while waiting for him. They're tricky like that at Channel 4.
:p On 13 May at 7:45pm, SciFi Channel has "Behind the Scenes on The Mummy
Returns".

Real news is always nice! While
projects like THE SIN GARDEN are a while off
from actual production and some, like MR BENN,
steadily bubble away in Funding Hell, Variety
has information about John Hannah's next movie: I'M WITH LUCY. Production
begins on April 16 in the United States on the romantic comedy which stars
Monica Potter, Henry Thomas, and Anthony LaPaglia as well as JH. According
to Variety, the story is about "the life of a late-twentysomething
gal recently dumped by a man she had believed was her perfect mate. She
then hurls herself into a disastrous series of blind dates only to learn
that Mr. Perfect is not always right and Mr. Right is not always perfect."
So is JH Mr Right or Mr Perfect? We shall see - I'll keep you posted!

I spent this weekend in Edinburgh,
Scotland, and visited the Earth History museum Our

Guardian article. Shall we take up a collection? ;)
-
US: It looks like
"PREDATORS",
a BBC nature series narrated by JH, will be shown on the Discovery Channel
7 January at 12pm. HOWEVER, it's possible that they've changed narrators
for the American audience. :(

Welcome to 2001! May
the New Year bring you all peace, happiness, and success... and lots of
John Hannah on your televisions and in your cinemas! This looks to be a
big year for him, with the Spring releases of Clerkenwell Films' television
movies REBUS: DEAD SOULS and REBUS:
MORTAL CAUSES, the acclaimed PANDAEMONIUM,
and the big-time Hollywood blockbuster THE MUMMY
RETURNS. Hopefully we'll soon have news on more projects for the year
2001. I'll keep you posted when I know!
-
Site Updates: A bit of
site maintenance - nothing too exciting.
31 December 2000:
-
Finland: This is rather
advanced notice, but hopefully I'll remember to remind you again...
ROMANCE
AND REJECTION will be shown on Finnish TV on 23 March 2001. Why is
that suddenly on TV everywhere? Oh well, not complaining!
30 December 2000:

all of the pages in the site have been updated in some way or another.
Major changes include the combination of the SO THIS IS ROMANCE? and ROMANCE

US: I had a report that
CIRCUS
would be released (limited) September 15. However, it may be released as
early as September 8.
-
Netherlands: CIRCUS
will be released 14 September.
-
Australia: CIRCUS
will be released 5 October and THE MUMMY RETURNS
will be released 31 May 2001.

site maintenance before I leave (3 days!).
30 August 2000:
29 August 2000:
-
Australia: Australia
has John Hannah fever! The second series of "MCCALLUM"
is going to be reshown on ABC, starting September 8th. After "MCCALLUM",
keep your eyes open for REBUS.
-
US: I've received an
email saying that CIRCUS will be released in
the US on September 15. I haven't been able to confirm this yet or find
out where it's being released. Keep an eye out in your local art-house
theatres, as that's the most likely place for a small British film like
this.
27 August 2000:
-
Australia: THE
HURRICANE will be released on video soon and REBUS
will be shown in the fall on ABC.
26 August 2000:
-
Filming of THE
MUMMY RETURNS still seems to be going on at Pinewood Studios so any
reports I gave of UK filming being finished are, I suppose, untrue. It's
hard to keep up with these large movie crews!
-
Site Update: I've added
two new pictures and hopefully I've fixed all
of the links to the superb MUMMY site Jonathan's
Bar, which has recently moved.
-
Happy birthday to me. :)
24 August 2000:
-
Site Update: There's
a link to a funny little article about John Hannah and the MUMMY
movies in the Interviews section.
23 August 2000:
-
Check out this cute
little mention of the nature series that John Hannah narrated: "PREDATORS".
22 August 2000:
-
PANDAEMONIUM
will be one of the Gala Screenings at the Toronto
International Film Festival on Friday 15 September at 9:30pm. As far
as we can tell, this will be the world premiere of the film. (The film
will be shown in November at the 44th
London Film Festival. No word yet on theatrical release.)
-
Filming of THE
MUMMY RETURNS has wrapped up in London, but there may be more filming
to do in Petra, Jordan. I'm not sure if this would involve John Hannah.
16 August 2000:
-
In about three weeks, I'll be
leaving the country on a study-abroad program. Though updates are usually
pretty frequent during my school year, it's not likely that I'll have the
time and Internet access to do as much with the site this year.
I hope to continue to keep you up on the latest John Hannah news, but I'd
like to invite you to check out my sister-site, the John
Hannah Appreciation Club (JHAC) too, since they will have information
more quickly than this site will.
-
Site Update: Thanks to
Tim King and the tourism bureaux of the PANDAEMONIUM
filming locations, we've got some fabulous new photos
from the film, full of JH on location in the beautiful scenery of Somerset,
UK. Take a gander at the photos, watch the film and have a visit! [Hee
hee, you give me pictures and I'll advertise anything. But it really is
lovely!]

10 August 2000:
8 August 2000:
-
UK: THE
FINAL CUT shows on Channel 5 Wednesday 16 August at 9:00pm. JH is only
in the first few minutes of the film.
-
UK: On Saturday, 19 August,
ITV2 will have a "Behind the Scenes" evening from 8pm to midnight. One
of the dramas included is REBUS. This may be a
rerun of the "MAKING OF REBUS" special that was on the same night that
REBUS:
BLACK AND BLUE aired a few months ago.
-
If anyone wanted to know the
results of the CIRCLES OF DECEIT mystery - it was shown in the Windsor,
Ontario area, but not across Canada. It wasn't CIRCLES
OF DECEIT: KALON, but another episode.
5 August 2000:
-
I've found another TV listing
where CIRCLES
OF DECEIT: KALON is listed for tonight at 10:30 pm. Now I'm wondering
if CBC programming changes across Canada. It's listed in Windsor, Ontario,
but not in British Columbia.
-
I've divided up the Interviews
by year so they don't take as long to download. There are two new ones.
4 August 2000:
-
Happy birthday to the Queen
Mum, who, I've just learned, was born in Scotland!
1 August 2000 (later):
-
I've just gotten my issue of
TV Guide, and it says that CIRCLES OF DECEIPT [sic] is showing on CBC at
10pm on Saturday. I have NO idea who's right, so if you can watch
CBC on Saturday and really want to see the movie, I suggest you give it
a try, even thought I can't guarantee it'll be on. Sorry!
1 August
2000:
-
US: Tonight's "ENTERTAINMENT
TONIGHT" has some info about the filming of THE
MUMMY RETURNS. John Hannah is in the background in one scene. Check
local listings!
Canada: Although
it's listed in the Yahoo TV listings, CBC's
website says CIRCLES
OF DECEIT isn't showing Saturday. I'm still going to watch to be sure,
but I would think CBC would be more reliable than Yahoo.
31 July 2000:
-
I've changed the mailing
address for JH. He changed agencies earlier in the year and we
now have the address for him at Curtis Brown.

Thanks to everyone who's given
me feedback on the new design of the site! To thank you, I've finally
gotten around to adding the interviews I've been promising for months.
More may follow if I get my act together!
-
Site Update: Links to several
new (well, new to the site) interviews on the Interviewspage.
24 July 2000:
-
Welcome to the new version of
srah's
John Hannah fan site. The changes are to the color scheme and
fonts. I've also introduced non-underlined links. I think the
dark text on a white background is easier to read than the old rainbow-on-black,
and I'd had some complaints recently about it being hard to read.
Please let me know what you think
of the changes! Are they a problem, or do you like it better this
way? Have any suggestions?
-
The Quotes page is dead.
Long live the Quotes page (or not). I eliminated it because I never
got around to doing anything with it and I realized that quotes taken out
of context are the reason JH had a reputation for bad-mouthing his home
town of East Kilbride. So it's outta here. Sorry!
-
On a note totally unrelated
to the latest site updates, I recently rented the audiobook
"Golf in the Kingdom" by Michael Murphy. John Hannah reads the book
on tape. It was a rather interesting story, and I don't even know
anything about golf or mysticism. I'd recommend you leaf through
the book to find out if it's something that you would enjoy. Even
if you don't "get" the book, the audiotape features plenty of John Hannah
saying "birdie" - so what could be better than that? ;)
19 July 2000:
-
During an online chat today,
Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep in THE MUMMY) revealed
that John Hannah injured his knee while filming THE
MUMMY RETURNS. He says that John will be resting it for about
a week before returning to the set.
-

and photographs from the filming of THE MUMMY RETURNS, try IGN

Australia: "BETWEEN
THE LINES" is showing Fridays on Foxtel. John Hannah made a guest
appearance on the show in the episode 'Nothing Personal'.

UK: REBUS:

Wednesday 19 June, and on OnRequest from Saturday 15 June.

For those of you who were not
able to see it, the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting
Actor in an Action Film went to LL Cool J for Deep Blue Sea. None
of the other awards for which members of THE MUMMY's
cast were nominated were shown on the broadcast. Looks like all that
clicking I did was for naught. :)

This winter, they will be filming
two more films for the REBUS series - one based on the book 'Dead Souls'
and the other based on one of the earlier books.
19 June 2000:
-
UK: From 26 June
to 1 October, the National Portrait Gallery in London will be showing a
photography exhibition called "Tartan Army". Photographer Donald
MacLellan's collection is of Scottish actors and actresses, and dedicated
to the late actor Ian Bannen. Included in the exhibition are Peter
Capaldi, Robert Carlyle, Billy Connolly, Brian Cox, Alan Cumming, Douglas
Henshall, Joe McFadden, Angus MacFayden, Ewan McGregor, Gail Porter, Dougray
Scott, Ken Stott, and Tilda Swinton. There's no word yet on whether
John Hannah is among the actors photographed. I'll keep you posted.
18 June 2000:
-
US: John Hannah was nominated
for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award
for "Favorite Supporting Actor in an Action Film" (in THE

to rent on 11 July. I've now found out that the DVD will be available
to buy or rent on the 11th as well.
15 June 2000:
-
In case you can't tell, news
around here has been pretty slow. THE MUMMY
RETURNS is currently filming (probably in London's Shepperton Studios).
I haven't heard any reports from the front on that one recently, so all
we've got is a few announcements about old work:
-
THE
JAMES GANG is being re-released on PAL format video on 17 July.
-
THE
HURRICANE is being released to rent in the US on 11 July.
-
UK: Saturday 17 June
at 9:55 pm,
FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL will be
on Channel Four.

-
Site Updates: Not much
lately, but I have updated the summaries on a couple of pages including
THE
JAMES GANG and "BOON".
26 May 2000:

series that John Hannah narrates, has a website

24 May 2000:
-
JH's radio appearance on "OK
on Air" is scheduled to replay tomorrow at 9 pm BST on Capital Gold (I
could be slightly off on the time - see capitalgold.com
for their schedule). You should be able to hear a RealAudio broadcast
on the Capital Gold website. This is assuming "OK on Air" isn't preempted
by a sports.
-
UK:SO
THIS IS ROMANCE? is playing tomorrow at 12:10 am (Ondigital) and 3:45
am. It turns out you can tape from Sky Premier after all -
we had it confused with Sky Box Office.
-
UK: SLIDING
DOORS will be playing on Sky Premier, Sunday 28 May at 9 pm.
-
UK: RESURRECTION
MAN will be playing on Sky MovieMax, Monday 29 May at 11:45 pm.

Hannah's MR BENN movie will be based.
18 May 2000:

Universal Pictures has announced

September 2000.
-
UK: SO
THIS IS ROMANCE? is going to be playing again in the UK on Sky Premier.
On 25 May, it will be playing at 12:10 am (Ondigital) and 3:45 am.
Unfortunately, you can't tape from Sky Premier, so you'll have to stay
up and watch!

For anyone who feels they have
to know this information in advance, THE HURRICANE
is expected to be released on video in the US on 11 July.
5 May 2000:
-
CIRCUS
is released today in the UK!
-
The releases of REBUS:
BLACK AND BLUE and CIRCUS have brought about
a rash of UK television appearances for John Hannah:
-
UK: JH will be a guest
on "TFI FRIDAY" on Channel 4 - at 6 pm today and at 12:25 am on Saturday.
-
UK: JH will also be making
an appearance on "MOVIE CHART SHOW" on Sunday 7 May at 11:30 am on Channel
5.
2 May 2000:
-
When on earth does THE
MUMMY 2 start filming? And where? I've heard that they've
already done some shooting in Morocco, I've heard that they started today
in London, I've heard that London shooting starts next week...
Well, whenever the actual date is, it's MUMMY 2
season, folks!
-
The premiere for CIRCUS
is tonight! The UK release is this Friday, 5 May.
-
UK: John Hannah will
be interviewed on "BIG SCREEN" on ITV at 5 pm on 7 May.
-
Did you UK fans catch JH on
"THE
BIG BREAKFAST" this morning? Here's the report from Dark
Horizons:
The Mummy 2: John Hannah
appeared on UK show "The Big Breakfast" yesterday morning to have
a chat about things and dropped word that the first day of shooting took
place that very day (May 2nd) on the sequel to "The Mummy". The actor also
had what one reader describes as "an Errol Flynn-type" moustache which
Director Stephen Sommers doesn't know about (so he may have to shave it
off for the flick). Why'd he grow it? Seems he considers his character
as "The Mummy's answer to Shaggy from Scooby Doo", and thus wanted
to give himself a bit more "Oomph" - yeah, right. Thanks to 'Mr Chuff'.
1 May
2000:
-
Happy May Day!
-
The cast of THE
MUMMY 2 are apparently back in England after a trip to Morocco.
They are rumoured to be filming at Shepperton Studios this week.
-
Australia: "CIVVIES"
is going to be playing Thursdays in May on UKTV in Australia. JH
is reported to have appeared on this TV movie or TV series, which also
featured his SLIDING DOORS costar/director Peter
Howitt and his "OUT OF THE BLUE" costar Lennie
James. If anyone out there sees "CIVVIES" and can confirm John Hannah's
involvement, please email me.
I will be forever grateful. If you record me a copy, I will be even
more grateful. :)
-
It's another big week for British
John Hannah fans...
-
UK: SO
THIS IS ROMANCE will be showing at 4 am on 3 May on Sky Premiere.
Once again, great bundles of gratitude are in store for anyone who has
a review, synopsis, or extra videotaped copy for their favorite JH fan
site manager (um, that would be me. And I'm not too proud to beg.)
It's one of the projects we know the least about so any information you
can pass along would be much appreciated.
-
UK: JH will be doing
the voiceover for a nature series called "PREDATORS". It will last
for six weeks beginning 4 May at 8:30 on BBC1. I think it's about
birds.
-
UK: CIRCUS
is scheduled to be released in the UK on 5 May. Pre-release reviews
have been rather negative, but I'm sure will do a good job in his role.
-
UK: The edition of Ian
Rankin's
Black and Blue with John Hannah on the cover has hit London
bookstores.
Site Updates: Finals
are over and I'm back in business. We have a picture from "MCCALLUM",
a caricature from REBUS, and several
interviews
and articles will be coming along soon. I've also installed a
new version of the site's counter. I hope it speeds up loading time
on the index page...
21 April 2000:
-
Happy birthday to John Hannah,
Sunday April 23rd!
-
Site Updates: I've added 8 (yes,
eight!)
interviews from the past week.
Whew!

18 April 2000:

John Hannah has suddenly become
famous, with all of his media exposure for REBUS
and CIRCUS and THE MUMMY
2. Unfortunately, and through no fault of his own, he has done
so right in the middle of my final exams. I'm trying to keep up with
the new pictures and interviews and articles that are flowing in, but it's
not easy. Until early May, look out for heavy weekend updates if
any.
-
Don't forget, UK Hannah fans,
that
John Hannah is scheduled to appear on "THIS MORNING" tomorrow at 10:30
AM! See the 14 April update for more UK television appearances.
-
A special and exciting bit news
for this site: it's been reported to me that today's TV Times (a UK TV
listing magazine) has a large picture of John Rebus, and that underneath
his foot is printed the URL to this very page. So thank you
to TV Times and to any new visitors the ad may have brought. Please
explore the other parts of the site to learn more about John Hannah!
-
I'd also like to mention a new
site I've been working on that tells a little about John
Hannah's Co-stars and Associates. It tells a little about them
and where you may have seen them, as well as connecting them to each other
thru other works. Please take a look if you've ever wondered "Whatever
happened to...?"
-
Site Updates: I've added some
new pictures from CIRCUS,
REBUS
and newspapers. There are at least
five interviews sitting in the John
Hannah Appreciation Club waiting to be transferred to this site.
I'll do it! I'll do it! ...eventually.
14 April 2000:
-
Next week will be a big time
for John Hannah fans in the UK. Wednesday (19 April), JH will be
on "THIS MORNING" at 10:30 AM on ITV and in THE
INNOCENT SLEEP at 9 PM on UK Drama. Thursday (20 April), MARY
SHELLEY'S FRANKENSTEIN (with Joanna Roth) will be showing at 12:35 AM on
FilmFour and THE INNOCENT SLEEP will be reshown
on UK Drama at 1 AM.
11 April 2000:
-
Did you watch "THIS MORNING"
this morning and miss John Hannah? There is good reason for that:
he wasn't on. His appearance on the show, we now learn, has been
moved to 19 April. This may or may not have something to do with
the date of REBUS' BLACK AND BLUE episode being
moved from today to the 26th.
-
Site Updates: pictures
from REBUS and THE
INNOCENT SLEEP.
10 April 2000:
-

The CIRCUS
website is online! Please visit to my CIRCUS
page for the link to the website, which includes some information about
the story and the characters, as well as the trailer!
-
Site Updates: new pictures
from TRUTH OR DARE, new article.
I've also been working on an undated section
for those movie/television projects of John Hannah's for which we don't
know the dates of production. It's not quite finished, but I've uploaded
what I have so far. There may be other updates I've forgotten to
mention.
6 April 2000:
-
BLACK AND BLUE (the first REBUS
film) is going to be showing on ITV on April 26, not the 11th. But
JH will be on "THIS MORNING" on the 11th. Apparently he was also
on "THIS MORNING" in January and we missed it.
5 April 2000:
-
I've received a report that
"MCCALLUM"
is showing Sundays at 8pm on Trio TV
again. If you have the DirecTV satellite system, then lucky you!
It is also showing on TV Ontario, if you
are within their viewing area.
-
The BAFTAs
(British Academy of Film and Television Arts) are coming up. THE
MUMMY was nominated for Visual Effects and for the Orange Audience
Award.
-
Happy Tartan
Day tomorrow!
4 April 2000:
-
UK fans: Although there's been
no sign of INSPECTOR REBUS showing on April 11th,
the 11th *will* bring you an appearance by John Hannah on "THIS MORNING"
at 10:30 AM. Lucky you!
2 April
2000:
-
Hey look, I purposely avoided
an April Fool's Day update because I'm not creative enough to come up with
a good AFD joke to play on you all. :)
-
INSPECTOR
REBUS may be released under the title REBUS or possibly the individual
episode names: BLACK AND BLUE and THE HANGING GARDEN. As there hasn't
been much publicity for the series, it's possible that I was mistaken in
reporting that it will begin April 11th in the UK. It may be later
than that. You keep your eyes pealed and I'll do the same.
-
I believe that Total Film Magazine's
May issue comes with a CD-ROM of movie trailers, including one for CIRCUS.
You might want to check that out.
-
Ain't-it-Cool-News published
a rather negative script
review of THE MUMMY 2 a few weeks ago, and
they've now published an interesting article
about Stephen Sommers' reaction to the review and some details about the
sequel. (Check it out if only for the entertaining animated Harry-head!)
-
Three weeks to JH's birthday!
Site Updates: I've added
pictures from
CIRCUS and INSPECTOR
REBUS and a new (old) interview from
1999 that's mostly about the INSPECTOR REBUS series.
I've also added a section in the filmography
for undated films/projects that we've heard
of in connection with JH. These are films or TV work from his past
that have been mentioned in filmographies or interviews, for which we don't
have dates or much information.
30 March 2000:
-
If you are within the TV
Ontario viewing area, the whole series of "MCCALLUM"
will be showing on Monday nights beginning in April.
-
Less than a month to John Hannah's
38th birthday (23 April 2000)!
-
Site Updates: There are a couple
of new
pictures and I've added a stories about
production to the pages of some of the movies, including PANDAEMONIUM
and MR BENN. I've also added my thoughts
on
THE LOVE BUG and THE
INNOCENT SLEEP.
24 March 2000:
-
The Oscars quickly approach!
As I said of the Golden Globes, I doubt that we'll see JH there, as awards
ceremonies aren't exactly his "cup of meat" (to quote... Bob Dylan, I think)
and he wasn't nominated. Maybe we'll see the cast of THE
MUMMY on video link from the desert for June's Blockbuster Entertainment
Awards, since several of them were nominated and they'll be together filming
THE
MUMMY 2.
-
THE LOVE
BUG might be coming up on television in the UK - or it may be the original
version. Ah, the eternal question. Check your listings to see
which one will be on this Sunday evening.
22 March 2000:
-
Site Updates: Check out the
MR
BENN page for some news about the movie, which should be filmed later
this year.
21 March 2000:
-
See the CIRCUS
page for information about release dates in the UK, Sweden, and Australia.
I still don't have any information on the US release of the film, although
I would expect it to come out in late Spring or early Summer. The
Sony Pictures website doesn't
mention it at all, which is a bit worrying, but JH seemed to think in December
that it would be released here.
-
The latest on THE
MUMMY 2 (including WWF's The Rock possibly playing a creature that
is half man and half scorpion) can be found at Jonathan's
Bar, particularly in the forum.
-
Site Updates: I've added a picture
from
THE INNOCENT SLEEP and have also updated
the page for the movie. Check out the THE
INTRUDER page to see the French movie trailer. I think I've forgotten
to update something. Drat.
20 March 2000:
-
I forgot that I decided to celebrate
this site's birthday on the JHAC's
birthday, since I forgot the date that I actually started it. So
Happy Birthday, srah's John Hannah fan site! I hope the site isn't
too sad that I forgot...
18 March 2000:
-
THE LOVE
BUG is now out on video to rent in the US. Unfortunately, both
of the copies in my town are out, so I'll have to wait. :(
-
For the Hannah fans in the UK,
JH will be one of the guests on "The Brian Conley Show" on ITV this evening
at 8.55pm. I am very jealous.
-
I'd also like to wish a Happy
1-Year Anniversary to the John
Hannah Appreciation Club. Join us for a chat!
3 March 2000:
-
RESURRECTION
MAN is now priced to buy in NTSC (North America) format. If you
can't find it in your local video store, you could try an online source
like
Amazon. Before you run off
buying, though, be sure to read the summary and warnings about the movie
on the
RESURRECTION MAN page. It's a very
disturbing movie!
-
The site manager's running off
to New Orleans for a little vacation. There won't be any updates
for the next week, but hopefully I'll finally get to writing my own summary
for
THE INNOCENT SLEEP and maybe the John
Hannah Appreciation Club will dig up something new in my absence.
1 March
2000:
-
Don't forget: THE
LOVE BUG is being released to rent in the US on March 14th (it may
be as early as the 7th, not sure on that yet). To read what JH thought
of the original THE LOVE BUG, see the Cinefile
Q & A interview.
Site Updates: Several
new pictures!
28 February 2000:
-
Site Updates: New pictures,
including the first picture from "INSPECTOR
REBUS"! My good buddy Denz is at it with the scanner again so
I'm sure there will be other new pictures soon, but I, as a big Rebus and
JH fan, had to do a quick update for this one beforehand. I'm so
excited about this series - I hope those of you in the UK know how lucky
you are to get "REBUS" before any of the rest
of us!
27 February 2000:
-
"Black and Blue", the first
part of the
"INSPECTOR REBUS" series, will be

According to Dark
Horizons, not only will Anck-su-namun (Patricia Velazques) be returning
for THE MUMMY 2, but she will have a much larger
part. It has been speculated that she will be the master villain
in the sequel, kidnapping Rick and Evie's ten-year-old son, while Imhotep
will be taking a backseat role. Filming begins in May.
-
Site Update: A few new
pictures
from THE HURRICANE.
20 February 2000:

The site poll is over.
The somewhat unexpected results:

Keep it as it is - 58%
Black text on white - 32%
White text on black - 10% |

No - 52%
Yes - 48% |
Menus
Yes - 82%
No - 18% |
I will try to keep all of
this in mind when I am updating the site in the future.

It has been announced that Patricia
Velazques ("Anck-su-namun") will be returning for THE
MUMMY 2.

From denzylle in the Yahoo!
Inspector
Rebus club:
"I am pleased to tell you
that the Glasgow date of the Rankin talks (and perhaps all of them) features
not only Ian Rankin, but also Stuart Hepburn, the writer who adapted Rankin's
books for TV (and also created THE JAMES GANG
and Iain MCCALLUM) and Murray Ferguson, JH's
partner at Clerkenwell Films and co-producer of the 'INSPECTOR
REBUS' TV films. Still no confirmation that JH will be there...
Tuesday 22 February: Leeds
Thursday 24 February: London
Monday 28 February: Glasgow
Wednesday 1 March: Aberdeen
Thursday 2 March: Manchester"
-
THE
HURRICANE comes out 24 March in the U.K.
-
"INSPECTOR
REBUS" will start with "Black and Blue" in April. Exact dates
of transmission are not yet known.
16 February 2000:

Dark
Horizons brings us this news from THE MUMMY 2:
"Permission has now been
apparently secured to film extensively around The British Museum in Central
London. The surrounding streets are due to be closed off for two weeks
in places, while period settings are rigged up. Part of the casting call
that's gone out is looking for dress extras for a lecture scene, where
Racheal Weisz's character brings them and the audience up to speed as the
film begins, using slides and film clips, to show how many of the artifacts
from the first film's dig were recovered and brought back to London. There's
also a sequence that's being costed out for a chase across the rooftops
of Bloomsbury (A still intact Victorian area near the museum), with Weisz
and Brendan Fraser being pursued by minions of the Mummy."

Oscar Nominations were announced

CIRCUS
is expected to be released in the UK in summer or autumn. As it's
funded by Columbia Pictures, we can probably expect it in the US before
then.
-
Site Update: Finally!
We have the first picture of JH from
CIRCUS,
brought to us by Empire Magazine. Many thanks to Janet, the visitor
to the site who pointed out the article in the first place! We would
have missed it without you.
-
Don't forget to vote
for JH in the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards!
10 February 2000:
-
I've linked to an article
by Ian Rankin. It's about his experiences on the set of the TV series
"INSPECTOR
REBUS", which is based on his series of 'Inspector Rebus' novels.
He has lots of funny and nice things to say about JH.
8 February 2000:
-
John Hannah has been nominated
for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for "Favorite Supporting Actor in
an Action Film" for THE MUMMY. The Sixth
Annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, which honor starring and supporting
actors, music artists, and video games, will be televised on FOX in June.
JH is competing against Ving Rhames (ENTRAPMENT) and L.L. Cool J (DEEP
BLUE SEA). As Rachel Weisz, Brendan Fraser, and Arnold Vosloo have
also been nominated, maybe there will be a break in the filming of THE
MUMMY 2 or at least video greetings from the cast shown at the awards.
to vote for the awards!
4 February 2000:
-
Site Update: I've just added
a new interview from today's issue of
The
Guardian. It's very cute - we love it when JH is being funny,
don't we? I've also finally gotten around to typing up the
article
from the May issue of Jane Magazine.
2 February
2000:
-
Happy Groundhog Day!
-
I haven't figured out yet where
on the site I'll put this information, but John Hannah recorded the narration
for the Dynamic Earth Exhibit
in Edinburgh. Check it out if you have the opportunity!
Site Update: Added a page
for "OUT OF THE BLUE", a few things to the FAQ
page.
29 January 2000:
27 January 2000:
-
No real news in terms of JH
- he's still working on "REBUS".
-
Site Update: A new picture.
25 January 2000 (evening):
25 January 2000:
-
JH was not spotted at the Golden
Globes awards ceremony this week. This is probably because:
However, there was a two-second
clip from THE HURRICANE shown during the spot
for "Best Director", in which JH was in the background, talking and gesturing
with his hands.
-
Site Updates: I've added pages
for PAUL CALF'S VIDEO DIARY and its sequel,
PAULINE
CALF'S WEDDING VIDEO, even though I don't know much about either of
them. I've also applied for membership in the Mummy's
Tomb webring. There have been some other 'housekeeping' changes
to pages throughout the site.
20 January 2000:
-
THE MUMMY
2 news: Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser have signed on to reappear
in the sequel to the popular 1999 blockbuster THE
MUMMY, according to Reuters.
John Hannah has already agreed to be in the sequel. The article reveals
that in the sequel, O'Connell (BF) and Evelyn (RW) will be married with
a nine-year-old son. Possible filming locations include Egypt, London
and Morocco.
-
Thank you for being one of the
visitors to this site in less than a year!
18 January 2000:
-
No new JH news. Sorry!
-
Please take a moment to fill
out the
site
poll and help me figure out what changes I'll be making to this site
for its second year in existence (the site's first anniversary is in March).
15 January 2000:
-
"INSPECTOR
REBUS" is filming again. We assume they're now filming the series
based on "The Hanging Garden". I'll keep you posted if I hear anything
from anyone on or around the set.
-
Site Updates: There are several
new interviews on the site from 1997 and
1998. Check them out! There have been a few other minor updates
as well, including the rental advertisment for THE
LOVE BUG.
13 January 2000:
-
One week to John Hannah and
Joanna Roth's fourth wedding anniversary. That isn't relevant today,
but I thought I'd mention it because I'll probably forget next Thursday.
-
Site Updates: more pictures
from MADAGASCAR SKIN and from the covers
of the audiotapes JH has recorded, and new (or old, but new to this site)
interviews.
12 January 2000:
-
Some JH-related news:
According to a source who works in a video store, THE
LOVE BUG will be released on video in the U.S. March 14th.
-
I was noticing that by the end
of the month, the site should be over the 20,000 hit mark (oh my goodness!).
This is particularly amazing considering that the site hasn't even been
up for a year yet! I wanted to thank all of you who have visited,
every site that's linked to mine and sent visitors my way, and those of
you who have contributed to the site (especially the efforts of my beloved
pals in the John
Hannah Appreciation Club). Anyway, thanks to all the JH fans
out there who have helped me with the site, and I hope it's helped you
out as well!
-
Site Updates: Everything
is now up to date! (I think). Well, this site is an ongoing
process anyway, so anything I've missed, I should catch up on quickly.
The latest updates include changes to the Biography,
MADAGASCAR
SKIN, and THE LOVE BUG pages.
-
*Site Manager breathes a sigh
of relief*
11 January 2000:
-
Site Updates: Finally!
I've finished the long and boring task of going through all of the THE
MUMMY pictures. I've changed some captions, but none of them
are new. They should all be in correct order now. Whew!
Everything after this should be a breeze. I've also updated the "INSPECTOR
REBUS" page and added a new picture from
the May issue of Jane Magazine.
-
Next: I'll be updating the MADAGASCAR
SKIN page, then I should be caught up. I'll try to get to that
tonight.
10 January 2000:
-
Site Updates: Movie pages updated
include
THE HURRICANE, MR
BENN, and THE INTRUDER. There's also
more info on upcoming films such as TEETH.
More details on JH-narrated audiobooks is included on the filmography
page and the FAQ page has been updated.
-
I WILL be getting around to
the rest of the stuff I mentioned yesterday, but I took notes on them and
haven't unpacked them yet. (And hey, a girl's gotta do homework sometime...)
More to come later in the week, hopefully including new pictures from HARBOUR
BEAT and May's Jane Magazine! Stay tuned!
9 January
2000:
-
I'm now back at school and back
at my computer. Unfortunately, it's also the beginning of the semester
and I'm adjusting from a move. Over the course of the next week I'll
be making a lot of changes to the site, adding new pictures and information,
etc. but please be patient - it may take a while for me to get organized.
-
Site Updates: new pages for
CIRCUS
and THE MUMMY 2, new pictures from RESURRECTION
MAN, MADAGASCAR SKIN, and others, and
an article
about JH and "INSPECTOR REBUS".
Later: I will be changing
the captions on some of the THE MUMMY pictures,
so please don't email me any more with corrections. I've got 'em.
I'll be adding to the pages for THE HURRICANE,
MADAGASCAR
SKIN, and "INSPECTOR REBUS". There's
probably more I'll be up to, too.
14 December 1999:
-
CONTACT! The JHAC has
received a letter from JH. More information to come in January.
-
Due to information provided
by The Man Himself, THE WATERHORSE has been removed from the upcoming movies
list. I had only seen anything about it in one source and apparently
that was wrong.
-
The Countdown Begins:
One month to the wide U.S. release of THE HURRICANE
(and why isn't the official site finished yet?)
-
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, everyone!
I'm going home and I probably won't have an opportunity to do much of anything
to the page until January, so have a happy new year and good luck to you
(and to JH) in the Y2K! Peace!
13 December 1999:
-
Site Updates: Due to final
exams (almost over!), it's taken a while for them to make their way from
the JHAC to the site, but now there are a whole lot of new pictures (most
of them black-and-white) from JH's projects (including new collections
for
BROND and PANDAEMONIUM),
magazine shoots, and public appearances, as well as new pictures of John
Hannah's wife,
Joanna Roth. Check
out the pictures section! Thanks, denzylle!
10 December 1999:
-
According to Cinescape
Online, the wheeling and dealing has begun, and John Hannah will be
reprising his role as Jonathan in THE MUMMY
2, which will begin filming in 2000.
-
According to the British tabloid
The Sunday Mail, there were some drug busts on the set of "INSPECTOR
REBUS". John Hannah was not present, however, although the picture
accompanying the story could lead people to believe otherwise.
-
In international JH news, I
believe "MCCALLUM" is being shown and THE
MUMMY is being released in Denmark, TRUTH OR
DARE is being shown in the US on BBC America, THE
INTRUDER is being released in France on 12 January, and a whole lot
of JH's work, including "OUT OF THE BLUE" and RESURRECTION
MAN, is being shown in Australia. If you want more information
on this, visit the JHAC
or email me.

I've been hearing bits and pieces
from people who have worked on "INSPECTOR REBUS"
but still don't know when it will be shown. Hopefully my "spies"
will find that out soon. Speaking of spies, here's a link to
an
interesting news
article about Ian Rankin, the author of the novels it's based on.
-
If you have BBC America, TRUTH
OR DARE is still being shown... check their
website for dates/times.
Site Updates: some
new pictures, a link from the SLIDING
DOORS page to a page with sound
clips from the movie, site maintenance.

News has been coming in via
email and the guestbook about JH's most recent projects. Amy Chandler
wrote in the guestbook about an actual encounter with JH on the PANDAEMONIUM
set:
I have always liked him,
but recently met him on the film set of his new film Pandamonium - he plays
Wordsworth. I ended up chatting to him for about half an hour. He was absolutely
GORGEOUS, and so down to earth. He has the most beautiful voice in the
world. I had the most lovely chat with him, trying to act normal, although
I felt like I was going to pass out with the excitement. He is simply wonderful.
-
And the call has gone out...
they are looking for extras for the "INSPECTOR REBUS"
series. I have heard from people who are interviewing for extra parts
in the series and also from Gareth, who wrote in the guestbook:
I just thought I would
tell you that the Cairns Agency is looking for up to 400 extras for the
Inspector Rebus filmingin edinburgh and around scotland. So if you would
like a part call 0141-550-7208. They're filming from mid Nov to mid Feb,
no experience is necessary.
So if you're in the Edinburgh
area and are John Hannah fan (or an Ian Rankin fan!) or are interested
in acting, you might like to get in touch with the Cairns Agency and get
a tryout.
-
In other news, the official
Universal Pictures site for THE HURRICANE
has been revamped. Apparently there are still more changes to come,
but in the meantime you can satisfy your curiosity about the movie by watching
the trailer (there's only one shot of JH though, and not even a hint
about the Canadian accent...).
-
I still haven't heard anything
about releasing THE INTRUDER anywhere other
than Italy, but an Italian contact said it was quite good. I'll try
to get her review on here soon.
16 November 1999:
-
According to an "Anonymous Surfer",
JH was seen recently filming in "George Square, by Edinburgh University".
We knew JH was probably working on "INSPECTOR REBUS"
or PANDAEMONIUM right now, and since it's
a Scottish location and they didn't mention anything about costumes, I'm
going to assume that the Anonymous Surfer saw him working on "INSPECTOR
REBUS". Anonymous Surfer, if you read this, I hope you'll contact
me, because I'd like to hear anything else you can tell me.
-
THE
INTRUDER comes out in Italy on November 19. No news yet on release
dates anywhere else!
-
The latest news in upcoming
projects for John Hannah is Dan Films' TEETH, an 18th century Gothic horror
story written and directed by Chris Newby (MADAGASCAR
SKIN). Producers are Zero Film from Germany, Isabella Films from the
Netherlands and WAVE Productions from Denmark.
-
Site Update: I have added a
new page for "INSPECTOR REBUS" and done some speculating
about what JH is up to now.
2 November
1999:
-
Site Updates: New picture
from JH's Clerkenwell Films production company, new interview,
and some minor (mostly cosmetic) changes to the site.
30 October 1999:
-
Happy Halloween!
-
I can't think of any JH news
that has appeared recently...
-
Site Updates: All-new
pictures
from two older movies: FAITH and
ROMANCE
AND REJECTION. Also, there's a new page for FAITH.
25 October 1999:
-
Not too much JH news recently...
I haven't heard anything new about THE INTRUDER
or even
THE HURRICANE for a while. I
haven't heard anything about
CIRCUS
in a long time, but I don't know if that means anything. I suspect
that
THE WATERHORSE and MR
BENN have been lost somewhere in the development stage. Doesn't
look too good for those two...hopefully they'll make it. PANDAEMONIUM,
however, has an IMDb page now.
-
New MUMMY
pictures from Stezi's
British Page! Thanks, Stezi!
-
I also want to thank everyone
who's linked to my page. :)
17 October 1999:

Something is wrong with Geocities
or something, and NO ONE (including me!) is able to get to this site right
now through the WWW. Oh dear. I may have to look into leaving
Geocities... does anyone have any suggestions of web-hosts with minimal
advertising and at least 10 MB free space? Well, I've emailed Geocities
and hopefully they'll be able to do something about it and I won't have
to leave them. In the mean time, I'll keep updating so that you'll
have something to read when the page reappears.
-
Joanna Roth's movie BLUE BOY
will be showing on BBC
America on Saturday, October 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET, 5:00 p.m. and 9:00
p.m. PT. The movie stars Emma Thompson and Adrian Dunbar and is described
as a "chilling, supernatural thriller". [Sounds familiar... the
Roth-Hannahs seem to do a lot of those...]
-
"BETWEEN THE LINES" is still
running on BBC America (the site doesn't tell when) and TRUTH OR DARE will
also be showing on October 30. For TOD show times, see my TRUTH
OR DARE page or the BBC
America site.
13 October 1999:
-
I don't have any new JH news
at the moment, so I suppose for today it will have to be only...
-
Site Updates: Thanks to
Stezi, there are several new pictures from
SLIDING
DOORS and THE MUMMY. There's also
my review of RESURRECTION MAN, which I saw this
weekend (very gruesome!).
7 October 1999:
-
According to the official site's
contact-person, "[THE INTRUDER's] release date
is about 6 weeks away." He's in England, so I'll get back to you
if I find out when/if it's being released in the U.S. or elsewhere.
The London premiere is next Tuesday, so there should be more information
after that!
-
Site Updates: The site
is up for JH's upcoming film, THE INTRUDER! That is, the official
site is up, as well as my own THE INTRUDER
page. I added TI pictures
to my pictures page (and emailed asking for
permission... hopefully they give it or I'll have to take them down), and
also added a cool animated gif from SLIDING DOORS.
-
Upcoming Updates: more
quotes
and interviews
4 October

Just to let you know, the results
of the user poll were:
-
60% from North America
-
26% from Europe
-
7% from Asia
-
5% from Australia
-
1% from South America
-
1% from "Other"
-
0% from Africa
-
I will be keeping this information
in mind when working on the site in the future, and try to bring more information
for international visitors.
I added a new MUMMY
picture and updated the RESURRECTION MAN
page.

Resurrection
Man was apparently released to rent in the US in July. I haven't
seen it and therefore have no proof that this is true, but you might want
to keep an eye out for it next time you are out renting movies.
-
It seems The
Hurricane was a big hit at the 1999
Toronto International Film Festival. You may not see many reviews
of it, however, because it was shown as a work-in-progress and professional
reviewers were asked not to write about it (apparently director Norman
Jewison didn't want people to comment on an unfinished product).
I've read some articles that don't go into much detail but do mention that
the film was given a ten-minute standing ovation.
-
JH's new film Pandemonium
(may be spelled "Pandaemonium") is being directed by Julien Temple (The
Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle). In addition to JH and Linus Roache, the
film will feature Samantha Morton and Emily Woof (The Full Monty, Velvet
Goldmine). It is being filmed currently in Somerset, Cornwall, the
Lake District, and London.
-
Joanna Roth's latest venture,
the play
50 Revolutions, has had widely varied reviews. They
appear to like the actors, though, as The Evening Standard says "fortunately,
Michele Austin, Joanna Roth, Nicholas Clay, Nathaniel Parker, Hugh Ross
and Amanda Root give such powerful performances that they regularly kick
start this flamboyant contraption of a satirical comedy to intermittent
life."
-
Site Updates: I have added
some new photos and links in the individual movie sections and updated
several of the pages. I have also started another project - a Sliding
Doors web site. It's a work in progress, though, (like The
Hurricane!) so please be patient...problems will be fixed!)
11 September 1999:
-
JH is scheduled to start filming
the BBC Films' movie "Pandemonium"
on Monday. In it, he will play the poet William Wordsworth.
For more information, go to the Entertainment
Tonight Online story. Robert Carlyle was originally cast as Coleridge
opposite JH's Wordsworth (wouldn't that have been something!), but he has
pulled out due to health
concerns and Linus Roache is replacing him.
-
As for the site, I spent the
whole day putting in the drop-down menus in an effort to make the it easier
to navigate and update. I also added a picture
from
The James Gang and one from McCallum,
a new interview or two, and some new information
in the upcoming movies section. I finally
unveiled the still-a-work-in-progress Quotes
page (email me if you have suggestions
for additions to this page!)
9 September 1999:

It's 9/9/99 and the world hasn't
ended! <grin>
-
I've revamped the Articles
and Interviews page and added a few.
-
Some JH news: JH has been
doing radio commercials in the UK. For the longest time, we non-Brits
in the JHAC lamented the fact that we can't hear these commercials.
Then it was pointed out to us that we have the option of Internet
Radio. Some British radio stations that play JH's commercials
include: Classic FM (classical),
Jazz
FM (jazz), Kiss FM (dance music),
Premier
Radio (Christian radio with some music), Virgin
Radio (classic rock and current chart and indie), and XFM(indie).
Thanks, denzylle!

Haven't done much over the Labor
Day weekend except add sites to the webring.
Sorry. There probably won't be too much new info available for a
while, till we get close to the release of The
Hurricane (maybe there'll be a resurgence when The
Mummy comes out on video, though!) but I'll try to keep adding new
features to the website.
-
Special note...to visitor jojo,
who signed the guestbook
today but didn't leave an email address: please email
me, I'd love to discuss JH's movies and rental/purchase availability.
3 September 1999:
-
I've been working on the brand-new
John
Hannah Webring and added a few new pictures from Madagascar Skin and
JH's work in Somaliland with Oxfam
-
Many pleasant movie sites have
granted me permission to use their photos (thanks!) and some have linked
to this site. Wow!
-
I love to hear from John Hannah
fans so please keep signing the guestbook
and emailing!

International Film Festival showing of The Hurricane, please see my The
Hurricane page.

I updated a few other things
on the page, but nothing major.
31 August 1999:
-
John Hannah and Joanna Roth
were spotted in London yesterday by a friend of a friend. He was
very friendly and polite and talked to her for about ten minutes.
He said he is currently filming a TV series based on the "Inspector Rebus"
mystery novels by Ian Rankin. Joanna will be on stage in "50 Revolutions"
at the Whitehall Theatre in London from September 7-25.
30 August 1999:

Poll results are out in the
UK on viewer's opinion of sex on television and their TV turn-ons.
"McCallum" is listed as one of the top turn-on
TV shows and specific events from the show are mentioned (I won't go into
detail on this site, but you can read
for yourself)
-
more "McCallum"
news -- if you live in the US and have Direct TV, they will be rerunning
all 14 episodes (for more info, see my "McCallum"
page)
-
new color for this page thanks
to visitor Teri's advice
-
haven't changed anything in
a while (busy week) but I promise I'll try to keep up during the school
year!
-
"The Hurricane" will be showing
at the Toronto International Film Festival. I don't have much info
on this yet, but I will keep you posted. They're supposed to announce
the schedule early this week.
25 August 1999:
-
Christavic from the JHAC
has used her wonderful Photoshop skills to make JH collages, which can
be used as desktop wallpaper for your computer. Thanks so much, Christa
-- they're great! They are in the pictures
section.

Revamped the links
page, fixed some errors that were pointed out, and explained the Disney
channel situation on the Love Bug page (too
long to go into here).
-
Hey, everyone, feel free to
point it out if you find mistakes or inaccuracies on my page, because I'd
like to change them (and I know I'm "probably naking tols of nistakes")...
18 August 1999:
-
New guestbook!
This is the third. If you are so inclined, you may still peruse the
first
and second
ones.
-
Cinematter.com
has some pages up for upcoming JH movies (as of yet, there isn't too much
info, but you may want to keep track of them). As soon as I figure
out what to do with these pages and his upcoming movie information, I will
make some kind of page to put these links on, but here they are for now
if you want to check them out: The
Waterhorse (1999?), Circus
(2000), and The
Mummy 2 (Summer 2001). Cinescape
also has a page about The
Mummy 2, which has a bit more information than Cinematter's...
17 August 1999 (part II):
-
Many MORE thanks to Siofra,
who has donated four new pictures from Four
Weddings and Sliding Doors!
-
I have also heard about another
JH project, a children's movie called The Waterhorse. The movie is
based on the book by Dick King-Smith (also the author of "Babe")...
17 August 1999:
-
Sorry, ignore all that stuff
about The Love Bug being shown on August 27.
I emailed Disney and apparently it's the old version.
-
However, "McCallum"
is
being shown on the DirectTV channel "Trio". Lucky you if you have
DirectTV! This poor site manager does not. :P
-
Only 4 more days till I get
back to school and my T1 Ethernet connection, and am able to surf the 'Net
all day long looking for John Hannah information. (Oh yeah, and study,
too)...
14 August 1999:
Movie News (thanks to denzylle
from the JHAC' and her Internet searching):
"'Circus' is now scheduled for
release in 2000. 'A conman and his wife who master the perfect scam'
'Intruder', described as a thriller,
started filming on January 18 1999 in Montreal, so it must be done. Looks
like the four months JH said he spent in Canada was 'Hurricane' and 'Intruder'
almost back to back. I saw it described previously as 'a husband peeps
into his wife's diary and wishes he hadn't'. This says ' a woman haunted
by the ghost of her husband's murdered first wife'
'Mummy 2' only shows Brendan
Fraser. 'The Mummy moves to London'. Scheduled for release summer
2001 so, if he does do it, I suppose filming next spring / summer."
Site Updates: cool new
link on
Four Weddings page, new pictures
from The Mummy and Four
Weddings, FAQ,
Mr Benn,
and probably other pages I'm not thinking of. Check 'em all out!
13 August 1999:
-
Happy Friday the 13th!
-
Added a whole bunch of new Mummy
pictures (some aren't the best quality, but they're all pretty interesting).
-
Eventually I'll put them in
chronological-from-the-movie order like FW&AF
is but not now!
-
I also have some information
on JH's upcoming projects which I'll share as soon as I get it organized.
-
For John Hannah fans in the
U.S., "The Love Bug" is going to be rerun on
the Disney channel at 1 AM EDT on August 27.
9 August 1999:
-
NOW we believe his birthday
is April 23 (same as Shakespeare!) and that his middle name is David.
There's some info for you.
-
I've added new pictures
from Four Weddings and Sliding
Doors (many thanks to Siofra!) and changed the birthday...
7 August 1999:
-
Four Weddings
and McCallum now have the links bar, and I
added a page for The Love Bug. I've also
changed the FAQ, the Filmography,
the Credits page, the Links
page and added some more information to some of the individual movie pages...oh
what the heck, just look at the whole site!
-
I also added a page for the
children's film Mr Benn, which I believe is being
filmed now. Not much information there yet, but I'll keep you posted...
5 August 1999:
4 August
1999:
-
I added some new pictures,
added some new FAQs and fixed the old ones, and
got John Hannah included on Blueshirts
HQ. It's been a busy month, so that's about all I've been up
to.
We in the JHAC
are beginning to suspect we're wrong about the August 5 birthdate, but
I'll keep you posted if I find anything out about it...
27 July 1999: The
newest change is the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
page, which I just added. I hope you will find it useful. It's
still a work in progress so please be patient while I figure out all the
details...I joined the British
Actors & Actresses webring...the only other big news I have is
that Universal Pictures has put up an official
page with a short description of JH's upcoming film "The Hurricane"
(formerly "Lazarus and the Hurricane"), and a website is coming soon...
16 July 1999:
I've added some new pictures along the
way since July 2nd...I created the ListBot list so that you can be notified
when
srah's John Hannah fan site is updated...It is rumored (and
I highly suspect that it is true) that John Hannah's birthday is August
5, 1962. I won't put it on the biography
page until I'm able to verify it somehow...and THANK YOU ALL -- I've now
had over 10,000 visits to the site!
2 July
1999: There's several new pictures,
new pages for "Madagascar Skin" and "Truth
or Dare", the site is listed as a "miscellaneous" link for John
Hannah on the Internet Movie Database,
and the Scottish Parliament is open! That's all the news and site
updates for today...Please enjoy the site.
8 June
1999: I'm back! It's been a while since I've updated, but
to make up for it, I've changed quite a bit. There are several new
photos on the pictures page, and - because
my old one was acting up - a new guestbook,
with more fascinating questions to answer. Please do!...There is
a small article on John Hannah in the May issue of Jane magazine,
so run out and buy it before the next issue comes out! It's the one
with Neve Campbell on the cover...Keep signing the guestbook and emailing
me - I love to hear from you...
18 May 1999: I think
today I will finally get the latest update to the site uploaded...it was
actually updated May 9 but I've had problems getting it uploaded to the
Internet...Sorry about the inconvenience!
9 May 1999: I added
new
pictures from "McCallum" and "Four Weddings"...saw
the movie and updated the review of "The Mummy"...I
realized it's the Book of Amun-ra rather than a lantern in the Mummy picture...made
some changes to the quizlet...JH's accent in "The Mummy" *is* English,
for those of you who wondered...go see "The Mummy"!..."TM" opened at #1
and earned an estimated $44.6 million this weekend (the highest ever for
a non-summer opening), according to
Yahoo!
News..."Sliding Doors" will be released for sale on video in the US
on June 8...
4 May 1999: Well,
this will be my last update of the school year...I'll update some but not
too much over the summer...If you want to discuss John Hannah and his movies
with other fans, I suggest Yahoo!'s "The
Mummy" messageboard, Yahoo!'s "Sliding
Doors" messageboard, and of course, Yahoo! Clubs' John
Hannah Appreciation Club. All are
to use, and loads of fun....talk to you-all later!...3 days to "The Mummy"...
3 May
1999: I will be getting out of school on the 5th, so I will try
to update over the summer, but the updates will be less frequent.
If you could email me the URLs of sites with info about "The Mummy" or
John Hannah, it would help me out a lot...I was wondering, and I hope someone
can answer this question: Do they show any John Hannah movies/TV shows
in France?...4 days to "The Mummy"...
27 April 1999:
Okay, this isn't really "news"...it's more like "gossip" or "hearsay" but
according to one
person on the yahoo!
messageboard about "The Mummy," "rachel weise and the scottish dude
both have a HEAVY english accent" in the movie. I don't know
how accurate that is, but if it's true, I think it's a shame...I hope someone
who has seen John Hannah's other works [someone from the UK, maybe?] will
write up a description that I can use (credited to you of course!) for
the filmography section...I love to get
feedback from you John Hannah fans out there so keep on signing the guestbook
and emailing me!...10 days to "The Mummy"...
23 April 1999:
Thank you for the support in my guestbook...Welcome to those of you who
joined Yahoo's John
Hannah Appreciation Club!...The site has now been officially recognized
by Celebrity Link...Yahoo
has been bringing in scores of visitors to the site...Thanks for coming!...Finals
are coming up for me so there might not be any updates for a while...I
added two new pictures from "The Mummy," rearranged the pictures
page so it wouldn't take so long to load, and added two new movies to the
filmography
section....14 days to "The Mummy"...
17 April 1999:
The site is now registered with yahoo.com...another
step in my quest to get John Hannah information to all the John Hannah
fans out there...I'm going to make a little ad for the John
Hannah Appreciation Club on yahoo clubs: please join, it's free and
we discuss JH and his works...feel free to email me descriptions of John
Hannah works you've seen for the filmography
section...I'll give you credit and links and everything...please sign the
guestbook
(it's lonely and I'd like to hear from other John Hannah fans)...2 weeks
and 6 days to "The Mummy"...
11 April 1999:
Added the quizlet that pops up when you visit the "Filmography
and Other Works" page...3 weeks and 5 days to "The Mummy"...
9 April 1999:
Added descriptions of the John Hannah movies I've seen to the filmography
page...if you'd like to help me out and send me a description of one you've
seen, that would be great!...less than a month to "The Mummy"!...
4 April 1999:
This site is now linked to/from the United
Kingdom Actors Appreciation Site...one month and 3 days to "The Mummy"...
2 April
1999: No news. Is that good news?...just added pages "News"
and "Credits"...this page is now linked to/from
starseeker.com...I
have notified several search engines and fan site indexes of the existence
of this site so that loyal John Hannah fans can find something about him
on the Internet...one month and 5 days to "The Mummy"...
